I have heard folks say Joan of Arc was Noah's wife more than once, online. One of may favorites was missing though, "If the King James Version of the Bible was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me".

I fully support reading the Bible, it's one of the most common routes to atheism. -

How can it be? It has been mistranslated so many times. AND IT KEEPS getting edited. 15 years ago go into any Christian bookstore one row of bookshelves full of bibles. Same time go into any bookstore and an even smaller row of shelves with bibles. five years ago go into the Christian bookstores and it's three aisles, AISLES of Bibles. You have not just the different translations, but then you have the "new' versions, then pick the color to go with your decor, then if your a man or woman your own bible and get to pick translation; children's, preteen and teen; family and then Catholic versions of them all. Then if that isn't enough you have the women of color. If a recovering addict you're covered. You get your too. Then to top it off they now are the height, width and thickness of the popular magazines with similar covers. Except the titles of the "articles" are of the Bible. We haven't even begun to tough on Bible dictionary, maps, atlases and concordances and if you want them included in your bible or not. Or if instead of traditional bound bible do you want bible software to install on your computer?

Christianity like many religions is a tool for the clergy to gain power and money. Christianity is also a crutch for the masses, an excuse for their miserable lives and a false promise for the good life after they die, but only if they bow to the will of the clergy, funny how that works.
