When fires begin to burn, spread, and thrive off of oxygen, they are unstoppable. On more then one occasion in history entire cities were completely destroyed by massive fires. Since the 20th century, growth in human technology, expansive fire departments, and water access have greatly reduced the amount of massively devastating fires.
