The video is posted on a custom-made website because my partner had a hard time posting this story directly to propeller using the youtube link - where it was and remains still remains . Its just a tiny part of her contribution to helping Maruska to survive an appalling attack by a much bigger dog - and the good news is that Maru is doing very well - and every increment of energy from the outside world is a great boost to the well-being of all of us. So here is Maruska in happy, carefree days - and tomorrow, she'll probably also be visiting an amazing ancient castle with some very special people..

This is a very dog friendly country indeed.
Maruska has the run of the second biggest Castle in the Czech lands - and is welcomed at ots of others..
When she attended an invitation-only Baroque Night at the big one, in Cesky Krumlov:

at the end of the evening, after a Commedia dell'Arte performance in the Masquerade Room, a Concert in the Baroque Theatre and a feast in the Park, and we were saying our thank-you's and goodbyes, the Castle Director described her as the "jewel of the evening".. -

She loves beer, of course DR!

Lately she has been on the wagon because of another little problem that we'll still have to deal with after this one is over.
Her recovery from this attack has been extraordinary.
The vet had been coming every day to give her injections but as of today we can give her oral medication.
Fortunately this does not cost an arm and a leg - though we'd have gone into deep debt if necessary!
Unfortunately humans don't get the same attention through the "health system" and my hand is healing much more slowly - though it was nothing like such a serious wound.
Tomorrow to my own doctor, who was away.

"well traveled".

Indeed!
She's also been across the great water - to NYC, VT, SC.
She does like Czech beer, of course, but we don't feed it to her on a regular basis.
Once I was at an outdoor concert at Old Town Square in Prague and some teenagers behind me had fed her 3 beers before I knew what was happening. Half-litres.
I had to let her take her time but we made it back to the train station on her own 4 paws.

Dear Marushka;
this is to formaly congratulate you on surviving a
dangerous encounter, and to express full support for
a speedy recovery.
While this may seem an overly-formal expression of
sympathy, we realize that dogs can not read anyway.
Therefore we have taken the liberty of rolling this
posting in a variety of smelly substances ,
only a quarter of which could be named past the word-filters.
I particularly recommend the bouquet of dead skunk;
3 days past and counting. And no doubt your dog's nose
is detecting the finest of ****, from some interesting
deposits behind the sanitarium.
Breath deep!
Smell and be smelled!
Get well!
sincerely,
The Crymtyphon Literary Society For the Prevention Of Cruelty
to Animal Crackers.-

Thank you CMT - I'll read it to her for sure when she trots downstairs.

At the very least she will listen attentively and give an incredibly soulful simuation of profound intuitive understanding - ahh I hear her trotting down, right on cue - no its her most dedicated canine admirer, the little black devil.
