    We are ratified signatories to treaties that outlaw torture. Ratified treaties are the second-highest law of the land, after the Constitution, and supercede all acts of presidential or congressional authority. Americans who torture are criminals, as are those who order torture, and those who know about it and do nothing. Even the PROVEN offense of the torture victim does not change this, and none of these victims is even officially CHARGED, much less convicted. Your defense of such behavior is ridiculous on the face of it.

    It makes no difference whatever if these interrogations have "succeeded" in preventing the loss of American lives. We are NOTHING without our honor, we may as well BE dead.
