Posted By mesodude 4 months, 1 week ago in Political NewsThis morning on Fox and Friends, host Brian Kilmeade did a segment defending the Republican Party against accusations that it is trying to “sink” health care reform. “[D]oes this conspiracy theory really hold any water?” asked Kilmeade, adding that it was “a bit of a reach to blame the GOP.” The two Republican guests on the panel agreed:

It's very sad how little they have to offer in the way of alternatives vs their lame arguments for doing nothing at all. The best they can do is to try to stifle the conversation. When they aren't denying that we need reform (because other countries have it worse than we do...blah blah) they talk about tax credits and "opening up competition" tort reform as the solutions to our problems. They are even more panic stricken and unhinged over this than they were a year ago when they were acting crazy about drilling for oil.

There are all kinds of alternatives out there - they just aren't government - oops, public option.

Like I said, there are several alternatives, none involving as much big government control.

I don't care who it is, the idea of government health care is a bad one, what the president is proposing is not reform it is a take over. I like my insurance plan and want the government to stay the hell out of my personal business.

Um, you do realize that there are plans like SCHIP, Medicare, and Medicaid? And that there are people who actually are decrying a "government option, and do not touch my Medicare"?

Besides, just wait until you have a catastrophic illness, and then get dropped by your insurance company for some condition that has very little to do with your illness. Or maybe the insurance company dictates how you get treated for a future condition (length of hospital stay, particular therapy that can be used, brand-name vs. generic drug).
Think that a government bureaucrat will get between you and your doctor? Then you do not know that there is a bureaucrat already in that position, but that he/she works for your insurance company, and that person has an incentive to work against your best interest.
And you want the government to stay out of your personal business? Remind me the next time when the neo-cons try to inject themselves into a personal family business (Terry Schaivo anyone? or maybe gay marriage?). -

I dismiss your entire argument you have no idea what your talking about. Terry Schaivo and Gay Marriage are unrelated and examples of why the government has no business medaling in my medical files. I have dealt with private health insurance and the so called public option and trust me I would rather have my doctor and my insurance plan any day. If your going to question my "public option" 2003 saw the passing of my 19 yr old daughter and because she was not in school and no longer insured we dealt with the state, no fun. Pull your head out of your asss your country will be bankrupt soon and you won't know what happened.

That's right - don't touch my medicare that I have been investing in, involuntarily, for 40 years. DON'T steal MY investment to pay for your "free" care. SS and Medicare is paid for in advance. (Unless the government thieves have stolen it)
