According to the latest statistics from the Energy Information Agency, non-hydroelectric renewable power provided three percent of total electricity generated in the U.S. for 2008 up from 2.5 percent in 2007.The growing importance of state renewable portfolio standards and the proposals for a national renewable energy standard have sparked an interest in the share of U.S. generation provided by renewable energy.

    I love wind. It's the biggest scam/cash cow we have going today. It doesn't generate enough energy to cover the actual energy that is used to build and maintain most systems. For a town of 100K it will require a wind farm that covers over 50 square miles. To build a wind farm large enough to cover the entire country, no including factories, businesses or Al Gore's home, will take the area of Canada.

    Wind is a scam and I hope when they prove there is no global warming, they go after experts like Al Gore and Mike Moore with the same drive as they did promoting their profit centers.
