An Open Letter to White Liberals From a Black American »

Posted By btatman22 2 months, 4 weeks ago in Political Opinion

Thank you very much. We poor helpless, inferior blacks...hold that thought. I must be politically correct. We African Americans want to thank you white liberals for helping us, using your superior intellect. After all, we could not possibly succeed in this racist, homophobic and greedy country without your assistance.

More black Americans are wising up everyday to how they are being used by white and black liberals.

It's very refreshing to hear an intelligent black person speak up against the liberals for what they really stand for. U don't hear things like this from the liberal state run media. All U hear from them is racial profiling and how conservatives are part of the KKK. Very good. I like that. It's clear to me that liberals have no idea how to treat black people or any other people w/other than their own snobbery and elitism.

As a white guy, marginalized by Affirmative Action, I thank you and other black conservatives for holding on to our "liberal" Affirmative Action programs so greedily. I have enjoyed being in "your place" as unqualified persons of color are accepted to higher education, are granted loans, and take jobs, hired only to meet quotas that promise federal contracts and keep their fed noses out of workplace culture.
I especially enjoy the fact that you understand so well, and will never complain when we downtrodden whites, who will be a minority soon, expect the same sympathy, undeserving appointments, special educational and social advantages that we have given your people.
You've renewed my long-held ideas of "equality."

Its heart warming to read the party of white supremacy has such concern for the black man.

I'm puzzled by the introduction. Instead of an open letter from Black America shouldn't it be an open letter from a black American? Lloyd Marcus is certainly entitled to his opinion, but to claim that as one person he represents all blacks does meet the dictionary definition of racism -- i.e. assuming that the actions or opinions of a single person represent a whole group.

I must agree. The blacks that I have known in school and the military are no less smarter or less able to do anything than I can. Is there places where they have less of a chance? Yes in some areas, BUT other blacks have proven those obsticles can be over come. A free ticket is just that. FREE! Now what is free in life that really has any worth? Money for education? Yes that should be given. Rewards for not fathering your children? NO.

This is great. Unfortunately, in today's political climate, only a black man can get away with your words of wisdom. Keep up the good fight. Maybe someday we can all express our opinions without being "racists".

funny part is that Barack Obama - a man who obviously did not dare view himself as a victim of white America and did dare to empower young blacks with the knowledge that success is attainable without any intervention - is living, breathing proof that this piece is horse sh*t.

First off what racism, we have the first black president?? Secondly welfare does promote poverty, crime and a break down of the family.

When blacks first were given civil rights they did as good as whites in most tests, had a lower divorce rate and were working very hard to achieve a piece of the American dream.

But then the government stepped in and wrecked all that with hand out programs and welfare. Free money from the goverment destroys motivation, work ethic and self worth!

If you look at the inner city the only things that are taken care of well are the cars (which were paid for by the owners) and the clothing (again which was paid for) the free housing gets trashed and so does most everything else.

The more you give people for free the less they want to earn for themselves.

Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

Of course, you realize most people on welfare are the daughters of WHITE republican trailer trash practicing abstinance.

Hmmmmmm, can you please back that up with some facts please?

I love how it just breaks down into name calling with the lefties.

I had an african American professor in college that was totally against welfare. He stated that African Americans have every opportunity to make something of themselves in this country and that Welfare was nothing more than Reparations from Slavery. Interesting thought.

Look at all these tolerant, accepting libs calling this black man a liar since he doens't agree with them, now if that isn't racist, nothing is. Libs thinking they know more about living the life of a black man then the black man does, so when he says something they don't like, he's lying, he's an uncle Tom, what a bunch of leftists fools, and hey, if you guys want to get me banned for not buying your bs and YOUR BLATAMT RACISM, be my guest, here that is, I wouldn't open the door for one of you at my home, especially that hateful POS not2bright

What a one-sided and lopsided view of social history by this black commentator.

Marcus rails against the unwanted and unintended consequences of welfare which are all too true. The fostering of loss of social and personal responsibility, the disintegration of many black families.

But he conveniently ignores other important points.

Does he advocate the abandonment of concern of the white majority (I am not white) for the injustices of the past? Does he want a return to slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws, lynching, loosing German shepherds on freedom marchers, shooting black leaders, second class medical care, inferior schools, segregaton in the military and sports, etc.?

He also conveniently overlooks the good that welfare and other social programs have done - help single mothers with 4 children survive, improve early nutrition and development of impoverished toddlers, given a chance for talented black kids to attend higher education even when they did not have the necessary academic background due to their neglected neighborhood schools.

As far as ebonics, it was the black community that demanded its acceptance by public education, not whites. It was black teachers who taught ebonics. It was blacks who pushed for creation of Black Studies departments in universities. If the white establisment had turned these aside, they would have been accused of racism and discrimination to no end.

Finally, this essay is a perfect example of racism by a black individual. He assumes all whites are guilty of their collective sins in helping push for welfare or black civil rights. He refuses to acknowledge that most whites do see injustices and want to correct them. Yet Marcus assigns to them nothing but evil and misbegotten consequences.

To point out mistakes is fine. To reveal undesirable consequences is fine. But to then to turn around and castigate the entire effort, blame an entire social group, and ignore any good that has been done is racist and blind.

Sounds like Lloyd Marcus is resentful of our half white, President Obama. Our liberal President Obama was nurtured by a liberal white mother and look where it got him!
Marcus, enjoy being nurtured by the Tea Baggers. Funny, I haven't seen your family and black friends at your gigs. What gives?

MYTH: Almost all of the families receiving AFDC are Black or Hispanic.

FACT: Many more White families than Black families or Hispanic families are helped by the AFDC program.

The so called Black Conservatives, were that before Obama came along. Down through History, the Blacks' biggest enemy was not the Whites, but themselves. There will always be Uncle Toms that the GOP will use, then dump. Just ask J.C. Watts that Campaigned for Bush.
