I know there are a lot of conservatives out there who support the GA simply because they think of it as a “conservative” organization. But think about it for a second – would a “conservative” group leave its members out in the cold if one of its members became physically injured in the line of duty, especially if that job required the members to put their own lives at risk?

Also, think about all the outcries we are now hearing about Obama’s proposal for a civilian police force. Where do you think he got the idea from? The GA has been the lab rat for a civilian police force, laying the groundwork and testing out the kinks, for 30 years. These ideas do not happen overnight, you know.

Begging hugh...then Congress is nothing but beggers themselves...LOL...good choice of words...and that includes Oboma....
Only thing is...I am more incline to give a hand to someone that was helping a woman...not a politician. Good story and good insight. Guardians are what Gods are made of...or they are not Gods.

C*ck of the walk but can't pay the doc?

Kind of like a taxi driver working without a license or insurance.

He certainly did "step in it."

Newsguy, can you explain what the issue the article is addressing is? Honestly, I've not heard of the GA except for when the 35W bridge collapsed here in Minneapolis and they were helping the rescue teams. I had to do a bit of googling to find out.

Is the article trashing the group/incident because of controversies surrounding the group/leader ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardian_Angels#Contr... ) and this is a publicity stunt or because they are not helping pay the guys bills when the founder supposedly makes a lot of money for his appearances?

Again, I don't know much about the group aside from what I read, but it looks like members sign waivers and do this out of their own good will and concern to better their neighborhoods - heck sign me up. I guess I am not sure what the article is criticizing. Perhaps, I am being dense or don't know enough about the GA.
