READ. Stop trying to "make Obama fail" like Rush L. He is doing a fantastic job handling this, the PR portion just needs a boost. The main reason is that most people on certain educational levels can't read beyond a headline, and don't even know what abstract thinking is!

Having had a light stroke, I'm speaking from experience here. They tell you that you can have a stroke with no warning or symptoms. That is true. Then they say to rush to a hospital or doctor. Even if you could get in to see one, what would you tell them? "Feeling a little odd,Doc"? It took me weeks to convince my primary care doctor to refer me to a neurologist for an MRI. Another month to get any physical therapy, so that dead hand of mine is still half dead 10 years later.

"Once a stroke has been diagnosed following the presence of symptoms, a brain scan is undertaken to determine what type of stroke a patient has had, with treatment prescribed accordingly. A cerebral hemorrhage will require medication to dissolve the clot and is given within three hours of the stroke, and anti-clotting medication may also be prescribed to stop more clots from forming."

For God's sake !
This is an example of well meaning people making stupid statements that put uninformed readers at risk. Yes, you do an MRI to determine whether the stroke is thrombic (a cranial clot)or hemorrhagic (a burst cranial artery or vein). In the event of a thrombic stroke, anti-clotting medication is called for, and time is of the essence. BUT IT IS NEVER, repeat, NEVER PRESCRIBED FOR HEMMORRHAGIC STROKES BECAUSE ANTI-CLOTTING AGENTS WILL ONLY SERVE TO INCREASE THE BLEEDING !-
