September 1 reported in large areas of central and southern California, burning close to a week of forest fires, the more intense burning, killing at least two firefighters died on duty. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced that the fire had been "out of control" and "very dangerous", urged people to evacuate.

I've been seeing that since the fire in Azusa started about a week ago !!!

Been trying to get a hold of some friends who camped up there while they were looking for gold, haven't been able to contact them.
They are pretty savvy though so I'm sure they are just out of contact, but still the fires are a horrendous thing, and destroy homes, lives, and habitat for wild life.
