Unless gays and lesbians step up their efforts in Maine, we will see the state slide back at the hands of the zealous right wingers. We cannot afford to let that happen. I am hoping that Maine voters will not be persuaded by large pools of outside money which are likely going to pour into this election. Once it is soundly defeated, I hope that the people of Maine put this issue to rest for good. Gay couples should have the right to marry as much as straight couples do.

Only a DUPA would support this issue, no surprise...

I just don't understand how a democratic society can let one group of people decide what rights another group of people should be allowed to have. If I am to be made a second class citizen who is denied the rights that are granted to other Americans, then I should pay less taxes. If I am a second class citizen, then why should I pay the same as a full class citizen? If I am not allowed to adopt children, then why should I pay for your kids to go to school?

NO ONE should be given the power to decide for a person or persons what they can or cannot do unless it is harmful to someone else.
Discrimination is alive and well in this country of the free. LOL
