You have said the "Pledge of Allegiance" haven't you? We did every day when I was in grade school. Why did we have to say that? Isn't Obama the President? Why would we "pledge" to support him while all of his efforts are to make real change in this country? Change is very difficult even when we know ourselves it is needed. I "pledge" not only to support our great President, but I "Pledge" to help create a new country. One for all people, by the people, starting with health care. Obama is right on, he is tackling issues as he promised. Remember one thing, the Republican's don't want Obama (this country) to succeed. After all, they're only thinking of their party politics. If you think for one minute they care about you or your future, I suggest watching the disussions objectively. What do they have to loose? They already have the greatest health care in the country. Are they fighting for you? I havn't seen any one of them care about anyone but those with money. (and that's the truth)..

I will pledge allegiance to my country. I'm okay with pledging to support my president -- although, frankly I disagree with most of his policies. I will NOT pledge to be a servant to my husband or my family, let alone my president!!

The mosaic of all the celebrities morphing into Obama's face is just too creepy -- and reminiscent of a cult-type dictator.
The rest of the video doesn't bother me.-

Exactly. The most dangerous power a dictator or would be dictator holds lies not in the armies that enforce his bidding, but in the throngs of citizens who continue to adore him.

Doesn't matter; that part was bad enough. So was the part with Anthony Keidis kissing his biceps.-

well, first, once he cut that gorgeous hair (Anthony, that is ), he pretty well showed us where his taste level. The pledge to the funk of united funkedelia or whatever allowed me to dismiss this completely. To my mind, as a political spokesperson, he's a really fine musician.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

The President is the ELECTED leader of the Republic of the United States of America.
Why do YOU hate America so much?-

And there was no difference.
I love my country regardless of who is elected to lead it.-

"You may have guessed this already, but news reports from the time indicate that Democrats criticized Bush for giving the speech."
Also, I didn't click through for the complete transcript, but the remarks quoted in your link are the kind I'm hoping Obama will stick to, I have no problem with those, from anyone.
