    It is a tragedy and unfortunately the usual treatment consists of putting them in a jail cell or a highway underpass and ignoring them. What is good though is as technology improves and the human genome is mapped perhaps we will have a cure. I see it like my grandmother who had alzheimers and she was alive but who she was was long gone.

      Sorry to read about your mother, CL. My grandma was on morphine for her back, but, it gave her alzheimers like symptoms, enough for my family and I to know the hell other families are going through with such a condition. The loved one's probably actually suffer more than the one going through it, because the one you loved seems to become a total mockery of all that is good in the one you thought was so great and kind.
