US Hypocrisy Astonishes the World »
Posted By tehranchik 3 months, 4 weeks ago in Political OpinionTo stem opposition to its wars, the War Department hides signs of American casualties from the public. Angry that evidence escaped the censor, the war secretary and the American Legion attacked with politically correct jargon: “insensitive,” “offended,” and the “anguish” and “pain and suffering” inflicted upon the Marine’s family. The War Department sounds like it is preparing a harassment tort.
Isn’t this passing the buck? The Marine lost his life not because of the Associated Press and a photographer, but because of the war criminals – Gates, Bush, Cheney, Obama, and the U.S. Congress that supports wars of naked aggression that serve no American purpose, but which keep campaign coffers filled with contributions from the armaments companies.
Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard is dead because the U.S. government and a significant percentage of the U.S. population believe that the U.S. has the right to invade, bomb, and occupy other peoples who have raised no hand against us but are demonized with lies and propaganda.
For the American war secretary it is a photo that is insensitive, not America’s assertion of the right to determine the fate of Afghanistan with bombs and soldiers.

The hypocrisy is the authors and anybody who rants like this. Naked aggression like responding to the terrorists who brought down the Twin Towers. Naked aggression like the UN having sanction after sanction against Hussein and he NEVER did what he had promised to do. Then the UN had the last couple of sanctions requesting member nations to enforce it. So our congress gave Mush the authority and after telling Hussein point blank that by a time certain he had to give in or we would invade. We then went in with 22 other nations. What a bunch of foolish ranting on the part of the writer. Foolishness for anybody to believe this rant.

This whole diatribe is by someone who has a very obvious bias as demonstrated in the highly charged words. "war criminals", "wars of naked aggression ", "invade, bomb, and occupy other peoples who have raised no hand against us", "bombs to blow innocent villagers to pieces", and "illegality and inhumanity" amongst others. I love the one about blowing up innocent villagers who just happened to be getting fuel taken by force from the US. When the tankers were destroyed the "innocent" people were killed. What a bunch of garbage. Those who took them by force were not about to let just anybody get the fuel. Such is the idiocy and over the edge bias of this person.
The story is about releasing the pictures of a dying marine with no thought about how it would affect his loved ones back home. Then they try to blame the US for all sorts of disgusting things. No proof just their feelings that they know what is right and no one else does.-

Endoscopy: "Naked aggression like responding to the terrorists who brought down the Twin Towers."

As far as I know, none of the terrorists were Afghan, and the terrorists got most of their training in the US. As I pointed out in another thread, even Osama bin Laden is not accused of 9/11 on the FBI most wanted list.

"Naked aggression like the UN having sanction after sanction against Hussein and he NEVER did what he had promised to do."
First of all, he did some of the things he promised to do. The weapons inspectors were in Iraq and he cooperated. Second, since when is it the duty of the US to enforce UN resolutions without being asked?
"Then the UN had the last couple of sanctions requesting member nations to enforce it. "
Wrong. They threatened serious consequences but didn't ask anyone to enforce anything. The Iraq war was never authorized by the UN, and it wouldn't have been had the US asked for it. The votes simply weren't there.
"We then went in with 22 other nations."
Oh yes. The bribed and the coerced.
"a very obvious bias as demonstrated in the highly charged words. "war criminals", "wars of naked aggression ", "invade, bomb, and occupy other peoples who have raised no hand against us", "bombs to blow innocent villagers to pieces", and "illegality and inhumanity" amongst others"
Well, as far as I can tell, people who commit war crimes are war criminals, and countries that attack other countries that hadn't attacked them are waging wars of naked aggression. The US has invaded, bombed and is occupying both Afghanistan and Iraq. It has also bombed innocent villagers to pieces, not only at the fuel trucks, but also at weddings and while they were sleeping in their beds. Both the wars and the torture of the prisoners were illegal, and I would call killing hundreds of thousands of people, including about 5,000 Americans, for nothing inhumane. What words would you use?
"Those who took them by force were not about to let just anybody get the fuel."
You don't know that for sure. Perhaps they were trying to win hearts and minds just like the US, but with more success.

When Bush said he was going to fight the most humanitarian war ever, I knew then and there that this was going to be a mess. War by its very nature is antithetical to humanitarianism.
Reply
An efficient, less bloody war is the war waged with brutal, final effect. The very ground beneath the opposition must tremble just prior to that enemy being blown to bits or machine-gunned into a spray of blood and tissue. The more inhumane the enemy, the more brutal the response must be. Anything less and you merely tease the enemy, make it more intractable, and extend the length of the war.
