President Barack Obama and European allies have given Iran until the end of September to take up an offer of nuclear talks with six world powers and trade incentives should it suspend uranium enrichment activities. If not Iran could face harsher punitive sanctions.

Does the US enrich uranium without international inspections? Does the US use that enriched uranium to fabricate nuclear bombs? Does the US deploy nuclear weapons throughout the world? Does the US from time to time insinuate it might nuke other countries (at least 50 examplkes are known). Has the US overthrown over 50 governments, most of them democratically elected, in the past 50 years? Has the US attacked militarily dozens of countries in the last 50 years?

It is pretty obvious who has earned the sanctions - and pretty obvious who are the traitors in our government. Here is a comment from a Reagan Republican.
Why Not Crippling Sanctions for Israel and the US?
In Israel, a country stolen from the Palestinians, fanatics control the government. One of the fanatics is the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Last week Netanyahu called for “crippling sanctions” against Iran. The kind of blockade that Netanyahu wants qualifies as an act of war. Israel has long threatened to attack Iran on its own but prefers to draw in the US and NATO.
Why does Israel want to initiate a war between the United States and Iran?
Is Iran attacking other countries, bombing civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure? No. These are crimes committed by Israel and the US.
Is Iran evicting peoples from lands they have occupied for centuries and herding them into ghettoes?
No, that’s what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians for 60 years.
What is Iran doing?
Iran is developing nuclear energy, which is its right as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran’s nuclear energy program is subject to inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which consistently reports that its inspections find no diversion of enriched uranium to a weapons program.
The position taken by Israel, and by Israel’s puppet in Washington, is that Iran must not be allowed to have the rights as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty that every other signatory has, because Iran might divert enriched uranium to a weapons program.
In other words, Israel and the US claim the right to abrogate Iran’s right to develop nuclear energy. The Israeli/US position has no basis in international law or in anything other than the arrogance of Israel and the United States.
The hypocrisy is extreme. Israel is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and developed its nuclear weapons illegally on the sly, with, as far as we know, US help.
As Israel is an illegal possessor of nuclear weapons and has a fanatical government that is capable of using them, crippling sanctions should be applied to Israel to force it to disarm.
Israel qualifies for crippling sanctions for another reason. It is an apartheid state, as former US President Jimmy Carter demonstrated in his book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid....

Anyway a dozen nuclear weapons is nothing compare to thousands of weapons the US possesses and the rest of the world including Israel possess. Israel is paranoid because it feels that its crimes and atrocities will be coming back to haunt them and finally destroy them.

As usual. Israel is hanging on this issue awaiting for the USA to take the heat and get burned. Shouldn't Israel get realistic and reach rapprochement with the political leaders of the Palestinians, so we can have peace. all citizens in a Nation should have the same poitical rights, no? Is there equality of citizenship in Israel, or is the compelling reasons not extending the same frights to everyone?, Using that philosophy, the U.S. would have to deport about 150 million residents.

same sh*t different day.

Go build a synagogue in the west bank, or better in GAZA.
How about in Saudi Arabia, perhaps a school for girls in Afghanistan.
A nice HINDU temple in Pakistan, or another Shiite mosque in the midst of a Sunni neighborhood.

It is worse than that. The zionists would like us to suscribe to the ideology that:
Reply
(a) an "Aryan master race" state, (b) conquered "lebensraum" (living space) for the aryan master race, and (c) ethnic cleansing/genocide for "subhuman non-aryans"
are all abominable ideas that have no place in the world.
On the other hand,
(a) a "god's chosen people" state, (b) conquered land for a "zionist homeland", and (c) ethnic cleansing/genocide for "subhuman non-zionists"
are all admirable ideas that all the world should support.

Hyper is right. Iran has not invaded any country since the United States was founded back in the late 1700's. On the other hand Israel started the 1957 and the 1967 Wars and Zionist have been terrorizing Palestinians since before 1920.

The U S and Israel do not want the people whom they terrorize to be able to resist in any meaningful way. The Neo-Cons need a bogey man to "protect" the citizens from. Thus they are created.

Most Reasonable. You chose that name. The quote didn't exclude anyone who has been a victim of immortal wars.

But you, by extension, insinuate that if I choose a quote that does include all, instead of choosing just one kind ( your statement Jihad), then your inference is that I have excluded that one source by choosing all.
Why did you exclude all except Jihad?
Who is the aggressor in the Iraq war that killed over a million Iraqis?
Who is the aggressor in the Afghan war that has destroyed that country and its people since before the 80's?
Who was the aggressor when we overthrew the Iran Government and installed the Shah as our puppet simply so that we could continue to steal their oil?
What country has Iran invaded since the United States was founded?
It is easy to state that the Middle East and specifically Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran are aggressor nations, but I think you might have a most difficult time getting history to agree with your statement.
Since World War II nearly all of the mayhem has been directed against a people simply to get control of the Oil in the region. This is not Jihad, but millions of innocents have died from non Jihad wars.
The first quote, I believe certainly illustrates the modern Neo-Con Ideal.
The second illustrates propaganda used to inflame people like you, to justify the initiation of a war for which no moral reason exists. Since you claim to be reasonable, see if you can find any propaganda ( that's false information put forward to deceive ) that our Government put used as a pretext for invading Iraq.
The third is an illustration that innocent victims of the wars of lust for oil are dead and will stay that way. They died not because of Jihad, but greed on the part of those who seek profit from wars and the taking by force of resources from weaker peoples .
In essence, Jihad is merely a reaction because of earlier injustice.
Why did we invade Iraq, become involved in Afghanistan, and why do we perceive that Iran is a threat to invade some country when they haven't done so even once , since before we became a Nation? Could it be the combination of the meaning of the quotes?
Who has done the invading since we became a Nation?
If an Iraqi beheads an American soldier, is that any worse than an American Soldier torturing an Iraqi to death? Is the soldier any more dead than an Iraqi child who has been blown to bits by a Hellfire missile fired from a robot airplane ( Predator)? What you have to do is decide who started the war in order to assess who is the immoral one.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. There were no WMD. And Saddam offered to go into exile to keep Iraq from being invaded. So what was the purpose of the war?
I believe that the war was pursued by the Bush Administration for only two reasons:
Make money for the War Industry and get Control of the Oil for the Oil Corporations.
Everyone who has died or been maimed suffered for those two reasons - no other.
