Team Obama finds a new enemy -- and, perhaps, new momentum »
Posted By Newperson 5 months ago in Political NewsIt really wasn’t the speech that was promised. It didn’t make the obstacles fall away. It may not change a vote. But when President Obama outlined his health care plans Wednesday night -- and when the emotions of the summer’s town halls spilled into a Joint Session of Congress -- the White House may have gotten the new start on health care it’s been after these many weeks.
President Obama has always been at his best when he’s got an enemy to face down. He found one on Wednesday. “A little-known South Carolina Republican may have done more than the president’s combative speech to unify besieged Democrats around health care reform, No president has ever been treated like that. Ever,” said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. The battle is more than a test for Obama. It represents a challenge to his party, and the degree to which Democrats recognize that truth will determine the fate of health-care legislation this year ..

I can't beleieve how disprectful some of the reps. acted. That just goes to show they never came there to even try and work with the president. Even some of the reps are ashamed of how the president was treated.
Reply
No president has ever been treated like that.
Dem or rep.-

The Rep are in total disarray, they have the spokespeople for the party quetioning birth certificates, loons attending town hall meetings demanding we continue to allow insurance companies to deny them medical coverage, the tea parties failed to generate the groundlevel support they kept claiming was there and support for Obama is still widespread. They are not happy campers and as can be seen intent on causing as much disruption as possible.,

Repugnicons: southern, rural, racist, ignorant, superstitious, evangelical, creationist, global warming deniers, homeschooled white people who buy the identity politics of billionaire sponsored right wing think tanks designed to do one thing and one thing only: Make the rich richer.
Reply
The central issue for the repugs, the actual cons making the rich richer by unregulated rape and theivery, is how to make trailer trash vote to make the rich richer.
Well, what to white rural trailer trash hate? What do evangelical creationists hate? What do fat white racists hate?-

There was a time I'd have given you a neg for that, but boy have I changed. It is what it is, and there's no point in beating around the bush about it, especially when the future direction of this country is at stake. And their ugly America is NOT what I want for my grandchildren!

Only A Pawn In Their Game
Reply
A bullet from the back of a bush took Medgar Evers' blood.
A finger fired the trigger to his name.
A handle hid out in the dark
A hand set the spark
Two eyes took the aim
Behind a man's brain
But he can't be blamed
He's only a pawn in their game.
A South politician preaches to the poor white man,
"You got more than the blacks, don't complain.
You're better than them, you been born with white skin," they explain.
And the Negro's name
Is used it is plain
For the politician's gain
As he rises to fame
And the poor white remains
On the caboose of the train
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game.
The deputy sheriffs, the soldiers, the governors get paid,
And the marshals and cops get the same,
But the poor white man's used in the hands of them all like a tool.
He's taught in his school
From the start by the rule
That the laws are with him
To protect his white skin
To keep up his hate
So he never thinks straight
'Bout the shape that he's in
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game.
From the poverty shacks, he looks from the cracks to the tracks,
And the hoof beats pound in his brain.
And he's taught how to walk in a pack
Shoot in the back
With his fist in a clinch
To hang and to lynch
To hide 'neath the hood
To kill with no pain
Like a dog on a chain
He ain't got no name
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game.
Today, Medgar Evers was buried from the bullet he caught.
They lowered him down as a king.
But when the shadowy sun sets on the one
That fired the gun
He'll see by his grave
On the stone that remains
Carved next to his name
His epitaph plain:
Only a pawn in their game.

In order to have a by-partisan bill or debate ,it is necessary for the opposition to be willing to participate. There is no sign that republicans will do that,so give them the finger and go ahead and do the job right. If we wanted republican opinion we would have voted for them .The country did not vote for them and we do not want any input from them.
Reply
What we really want is for homeland security to go out and arrest those republicans that are involved in the terror group that wrecked our republic ( there are about three thousand of them ).That should have been done the first day of this administration. But we do not see this happening and there for this disruption and these terror acts will continue.Lets put a stop to this now. -

Looks like we are caught up in their Chaos...LOL...I am still for getting rid of both parties...History speaks loudly...and I know one thing...the Democrats have no excuse...neither do the Republicans...for waiting until 2009 to get something done.I'll keep that bit of information at hand...when one of them try to influence me. Otherwise...I really do not care what Oboma has to say...I care what he does.

the Democrats don't need the Republicans to pass this bill.
Reply
so, why are they badmouthing them if they want bipartisanship.
I read somewhere that the only way people will accept Obamacare is if the Democrats can convince them that Republicans are evil.-

I found a great site to donate money to Joe Wilson's reelection opponent! He's already raised over $550,000.00, now thanks to me add another $100.00. Money is the only thing that Republicans understand, so let's show them some of ours and help his opponent, Rob Miller, an Iraq War Veteran, raise a little doe!

On Sept 11, 2001 over 3,000 Americans lost thier lives due to the actions of terrorists. As a consequence the United States went to war, sparing no effort and without concern for the cost to prevent this from happening again.
Reply
Each year however, many times that number lose thier lives due to lack of heath insurance. If 3,000 lives are enough to declare war, are the lives of tens of thousands of Americans worth any less?
Just as in Iraq, we face an insurgency fighting to prevent this. In addition to placing as many "landmines" in the way as possible they have even resorted to terrorizing the weak and elderly into fearing those who are trying to protect them. Some are remnants of the old regime angry to have been defeated and trying to regain power. Others are hardliners and religious extremists who simply hate so much they just want to see us fail. They are responsible for more American deaths than all the terrorist attacks in history combined. If we do not defeat them, the death toll will continue unabated. If that means declaring war on them, so be it. -

"No president has ever been treated like that. Ever,” LIED White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
Reply
Somewhat true. Dan Rather's presentation of documents of unknown provenance in the attempt to insult a sitting president and steal the election from him trumps anything ever done to a sitting US President.
And there's not once single piece of liberal filth on this forum who can prove otherwise. -

No matter what he did do wrong by saying "you lie" to the President of the United States, he is angery with Obama and I have a feeling why, he could have kept his opinion to himself and discuss what he had to say with the President.
Reply
His behavior was way out of control, and his outburst was captured on natioal TV. This caused many Americans to be upset with him. I for one am a Dem and would not have ever thought of disrespecting former President Bush, this does not mean that I am taking up for our x President because I'am not. But being our President he deserved the respect due to him for being the President.
