"Anybody can claim anything but the fact is that unemployment figures just keep on climbing."
Reply
Doesn't disprove the claim. The trend in job loss so far this year, may lend some credibility to a claim that jobs are being created.
Ironically, economic trends usually lag behind a significant period of time from the event or events that cause them. There is probably some truth that Bush may be as responsible for turning things around as Obama. Considering that the trend is something you do not believe, then you cannot believe Bush had anything to do with job creation, only job loss. I am not sure that is advantageous to your political stance.
"More that Bush had in 8 years."
Doesn't make either right. -

First we must distinguish b/t jobs and value-added jobs.
Reply
A mere job, as in "government job," is a drag on GDP. Only private sector jobs are value-added jobs that help GDP.
The only net growth in employment anywhere in the US is in the government sector.
Thus the only possible thing Obama can claim--even where there is net job growth--is that his policies are a drag on GDP.
(Note to Barney Frank: not that kind of drag, k?) -

My Fellow Americans: I could not stop from laughing when I read this topic. Obama has saved or created jobs? He is so good at it how come he did not save all those jobs that just got lost? How come he did not create new jobs for those that lost their jobs? Just who is he saving those jobs for? I believe it is about time he started spending some of those jobs for the ones American people who don't have one because of his un-stimulating policies.

Before I depart I have decided to help Propeller in their blocking comment capacity. I have noticed in the recent weeks that very logical statements are being blocked and some very vulgar demeaning comments are slipping through the cracks.
Probably coincidental but I thought I would remind the Propeller Head Honchos of the ones that seem offensive to me.
So, please look forward to my insightful replies in the future.
Maybe some of you concern citizens would like to help me out, since it can only benefit this Propeller Site.
Now, maybe fewer conservative comments will get the honor of been read and not blocked. Liberals at this time do not have to worry because after reading some of their comments recently I know the general audience finds them offensive. The Real American -

I am a small business owner and was going to expand this year. Instead, with all this irresponsible spending I am not hiring and neither is anybody else, and I will not be expanding. Chin up, the next administration will put things right again.

Fresnodaddy stated in the comments of another story that he lost his job during the "Bush Reign." He also wrote that he hasn't found another job yet. Is it possible that he forgot to send his application to O.B.A.M.A? Or is he not valuable to his leader? Did he lose his job after the democrats won the House and Senate in 2006? Ah, but not to worry. His beloved democrats will take care of him; he need not fret.

They say 1 million in one place, and thena "projection" of 750k total. Which is it? Answer: none ! Over half a million NEW ppl file for unemployment in this country EVERY WEEK - how in hell can a President pat himself on the back and claim to have saved or created jobs????? That is absurd!!! So, lets just assume he`s right - we`ll even give credit for the 1 million dream number, for the sake of the argument.$787 billion / 1 million jobs = $78,700/"job". Did he "create" jobs that pay $78k ???? How laughable is that! Therefore, "stimulus" is a $$$ loser even if we buy into the "jobs created" crap.

Of course republicans criticize, It's what they do best. If its not criticism it's obstruction. Their biggest fear is that Obama will succeed and prove once and for all that republicans cant rule their own private parts let alone a nation , lol. oh HMMace, If a 59% rating is a loss of confidence, then what do u call Bush's 30% or so rating???? and if Obama should resign, they why didnt bush resign? Because you are delusional, You are blinded by your own hate and unhappiness. You are nothing but a troll. as usual lmao at u

demonslayer194 : Come back to reality, as all three of your comments are incorrect and this is not about hate but love for America. 787 BILLION DOLLARS for STIMULUS and now Obama wants 900 BILLION DOLLARS for OBAMACARE when people are already strapped. When a president disrepects the country he is president of and the people, it is no wonder his ratings are falling .Obama is sold out to the unions who he owes and is using plenty of the taxpayer's money to bail them out.

"Most of the stimulus money hasn't been spent yet and won't be until next year. Your figures, therefore, would be the joke.
BTW, every country I have visited this year(more than ten) has had a stimulus package."
You can't have it both ways when doing the math. If only 10% of the money has been spent then it is still $78K per job.
AND here is a question for you, can we expect another 9 million jobs to be created or saved when the other 90% of the money is spent over the next 18 months?
This is where your comment and others who make it falls down. If you can't expect another 9 million jobs, then the cost per job just goes higher and higher. I'll bet you'll never see the MSM question obama on this conundrum.
