KNEW says it wants to go with more "contemporary" and "local" content... but that sounds like BS. Savage is the third largest syndicated talk radio show in America, so it's very contemporary. Plus, he's always talking about San Francisco - so it's got a strong local content to it as well.

KNEW could be doing this because of Obama's moving in to censor talk radio, or some other caving in to political correctness.

Either way this sucks because KNEW used to give Savage's show for free on the podcast and now it's nowhere to be found.

Wow! Well, I'm listening to him right now as I write this. He's being silent about it.

I would think Rachel Madcow would be a better fit in San Francisco.

Even though I don't like his show, it is unsettling that a radio station would dump such a highly rated program. I guess free speech is more easily trumped by money and politics than I thought. We should watch that very carefully.

Savage and the like can no longer hide behind the "free speech mantra" to divide this country with their spewing of disrespectful, anger provoking editorials. It's good to see the media execs. are finally getting the picture.

Actually, the reason why KNEW cancelled Savage is that he's getting clobbered by Mark Levin.

His replacements - John and Ken - are a big gamble by KNEW to knock off Levin. I don't think that it wil work.

The hindering of free speech does not come into question when the generation of sponsorship dollars or station image is concerned. It is purely business.
I for one, will not lament the passing of Savage - a very apropos pseudonym for this uncouth loudmouth who even attacks autistic children

"Savage wound up on KNEW after being unceremoniously dumped by rival San Francisco conservative talker KSFO several years ago... Savage was recently banned from visiting Great Britain for things he has said on his show."

Sounds like the guy has some issues which are more than what you hear on the radio, plus, he's basically a liability at this point.

I could care less... conservative/liberal or republican/democrat. The people listening to ANY talk radio should probably find the proper voice out of the many in their heads and go get their own viewpoint, rather than just listen to what their own little AM "party chairmen" tell them. Then again, we all know about thirsty horses...

The only reason why I listen to Michael Savage, is because he's not afraid to speak his mind. Sure he's abrasive, arrogant, and, a bit of a bastard, but, again, he's NOT afraid to call it like he sees it, which is incredibly refreshing, and, guess what? When he calls it, he hits the mark most of the time. Plus, he has guests on at times that are ALSO not afraid to tell it like THEY see it, and, they TOO hit the mark most of the time, also.

Conservatives in San Francisco? I didn't think there were any. I thought conservatives would get lynched for even passing through there. Imagine my surprise.
