All breaches of manners and common courtesy require apologies. Madam Pelosi SHOULD have had the Sergent-at-Arms escort him out. The Senate should STILL reprimand him. Let him say whatever he will, when it's on his nickle. When he is invited to the other Chamber to hear an address, he should hold his piece or leave if he feels he cannot.

there was plenty of booing and hissing going on from republicans during the entire speech. this is someone during a quiet moment in the speech jabbing his finger and calling the president a liar.

What made him so mad was the fact that he had worked on fighting an amendment that allows the illegal aliens to get the public option. That amendment states that the official giving out the policies are supposed to assume anyone requesting it has a right to get it. They are not allowed to question the person or ask for proof of citizenship or green card. The Democrats forced that one in so Obama was lying at that point and right after he called conservative members of congress liars.

In effect Obama called him a liar and then told a whopper. What would you do if someone did that to you? -

He also apologized. When did Democrats apologize for the things the article talks about?
Reply
Did you even read the article? I see very little evidence of anyone on your side having read btatman's article.
My position is: since the White House accepted the apology, there is no point in beating a dead horse by having him censured.

Would you say that if Wilson were a liberal?

Does the Senate have chastise powers over Representatives?
Is being PC more important than truth?
Actually I'm a bit disappointed that Wilson didn't set off a riot over the lies, but he just didn't holler loud enough.. The people are not going to stand for this much longer.-

Manners know no partisan politics. And apparently this particular politician knows no manners. It has NOTHING to do with pc, truth, or politics. Forgive my misspeaking (or keyboarding), the House should still reprimand him. (But yes, either house may vote to reprimand anyone they choose} If you wish a brawling legislature, go to England. I require better of my representatives, and when the time comes I hope the people of my sister state of South Carolina do the too.

It's all fine and dandy to come out with generalities about manners, but have you ever commented about specific breaches of manners by liberals or Democrats (no, the two terms are not synonymous--far from it)?

As I wrote in a separate comment a minute or so ago, "the words of the critics of Wilson who have been participating in this discussion would carry a whole lot more weight if they actually commented on some of the outrageous breaches of protocol that [btatman's] article" talks about.
