New York Residences Raided in Terrorism Probe

Law enforcement agents have raided residences in New York City as part of a terrorism investigation, and are preparing to brief Congress about the investigation.

This is right near a major LIRR artery....

I'd bet they were gonna hit the LIRR a major commuter RR and that other cells are planning to whack other mass transit targets...

I hope they find all the other cells - even if they need to use torture!

Know the area well.....Thats the Jamaica, LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) station. It's a major transportation hub. All the LIRR trains eastbound and westbound from NYC, Brooklyn and Long Island connect there. All those trains run in and out of Penn Station in midtown Manhattan. It is also a connecting point for many NYC MTA bus routes. Several miles further north off of the Van Wyck Expressway at Roosevelt Avenue is a major stop for the NYC mass transit train system. Thats right where the old Shea Stadium used to be and where the new CITIFIELD was built. This is a densely populated urban area. Right off of the Van Wyck Expressway. not far from the raided homes is one of the largest Mosques in Queens County.

I certainly hope that they didn't use wire taps and remembered to read them their Miranda rights.

I'm sure the Obama administration passed out flyers and called each home ahead in advance. They would have certainly had a meeting with each suspected homes residence attorney so they could be sure the raid was conducted legally and their rights were not violated.

This person said some counterterrorism officials were concerned that the individual at the center of the investigation may have had access to, or an interest in acquiring, materials that could be used for a chemical, biological or radiological device. One aspect of the probe involves whether the person had some contact or connections with suspicious individuals overseas, the official said.

They sure aren't releasing much information about this raid. There are a lot more questions than answers.
