Rep. Joe ("You Lie!") Wilson's now-legendary exclamation during President Obama's speech to Congress last week was itself essentially untrue, as we've documented.

But in trying to deflect charges of xenophobia in the wake of the outburst, it looks like the South Carolina congressman again played fast and loose with the facts.

At a Thursday press conference, Wilson was at pains to present himself as a friend of immigrants, declaring:

For Wilson's sake I hope he did indeed act as a immigration attorney for someone during his career as a real estate lawyer. If it turns out that he did not...this exaggeration or out right lie will be enough to pretty much do him in.

    Actually, I don't find it distracting at all. Some of us are able to focus on more than one thing at a time... The plain and simple fact is that Wilson is the liar! He's caught now. Spiraling... very nicely. No distraction -- just the facts. lmao

    Let me see. In the beginning of that speech there was reference to two cases of people losing their insurance and one dying as a result. He had been warned a couple of times before after using those examples that he was wrong. They are part of the congressional record.
    
    Example 1
    A man was getting cancer treatment. His insurance was stopped because he had some silly problem he did not know he had when he got the insurance. Later the man died.
    
    What was left out was the fact that he was immediately reinstated so his treatment was not affected. They even went the extra and he had a new stem cell treatment. His wife credits that treatment as giving him 3 more years of life and she was very grateful of the insurance providing it for him.
    
    Obama lied.
    
    Example 2
    A woman was being trated for cancer and her insurance was stopped because she had acne previously. Her treatment was delayed 4 months.
    
    What was left out was she didn't have acne but melanoma and some other serious problems she lied about on her application for insurance. When that caught up to her they remove her from coverage. That happen to every one that is caught lying to them.
    
    Obama lied.
