Now if we could get them to spank the REALLY BAD guys, such as Pooplosi, Reid, notsoFeinstein, Suckstein etc. you know, the commies and worse. They are the ones that hate America and it's constitution. No person that is against any part of the constitution should ever be elected to any office and that includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Whigs etc..

I think this was a mistake, to be honest. He made a mistake and he took a serious political hit for it (just look at the hundreds of thousands of dollars his political opponent collected without even trying), but he apologized. Whether or not it was sincere isn't really for anyone but Obama to say. Obama accepted the apology. It really should have ended there. Why? Because now he's gone from an idiot who can't control his emotions to a martyr for his base. Stupid move on the part of the House democrats.

I swear...the dems can't seem to find a backbone when it really matters (putting down the lies about health care as their town hall meetings are being hijacked, for example), but for THIS they stood their ground? Why? Had he not apologized, I could understand it, but this was just silly and it took a slam dunk moment for the dems and turned it into shooting themselves in the foot. And now, it is likely they have alienated the few republicans who had become sympathetic to the democrats position in the process. Dumb. Typical, yes, but DUMB.-

Politics aside. If this type of behavior is allowed to slide for the sake of getting a few Republicans to cozy up to us, I say no. The House has it's rules and they have the right to enforce those rules. I don't think any politician should get away with something, based solely on the grounds that it would be politically expedient to do so. As far as Democrats and backbone go, l can only explain it like this. Democrats are like goats and Republicans are like sheep. Ever try to herd sheep? Well you can get them all going in the same direction. Try herding goats. They go every which way and getting them all to go in the same direction is impossible. Sad, but true.

I don't think he sees it that way at all. Most people who make serious faux pas recognize it straight away, and apologize as quick as they can. Wilson was told to apologize. And if this were really a "mistake", Wilson would have had some humility that he blew it. He sure as hell wouldn't be out the next day signing autographs, encouraging his constituents to think what he did was okey dokey! Naw, Wilson knew what he was doing. He's a CON all right. -

This congressional low-life did indeed apologize - by sending a message. He did not have the balls to submit the alleged apology in person. HE SENT A MESSAGE OF APOLOGY! This issue is still bouncing around on the net and getting deserved attention but again I will repeat, the 'apology' was a simple, spineless message.

He called the White House and spoke to Rahm Emmanuel and apologized. He didn't speak directly to the President, but the President accepted the apology. Do you know why he spoke to Rahm Emmanuel instead of Obama personally? I doubt it was his CHOICE, because THAT conversation was most likely a LOT more painful than the one Obama would have had with him. Obama is a diplomat. Emmanel is a Pit Bull, and a mean one at that. I suspect his "message" was his only choice given the circumstances. Frankly, I was glad to see that Obama didn't take his call directly, but instead deferred him to Emmanuel who would make the point that disrespecting the President in that manner would come with its own set of consequences. Respect is a two-way street and he needed to earn it back after the stunt he pulled. I think Obama handled it perfectly. I just think the rest of the democrats on the hill jumped an already parked band wagon.

lots of stuff is now coming to the surface concerning joe wilson.

like his membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a group that isn't just a bunch of civil war re-enactors.
the Southern Poverty Law Center the St. Petersburg Times have both written extensively on the SCV, noting that the SCV has been taken over in the past decade by radical neo-Confederates who favor secession and defend slavery as a benign institution.
so...
Joe Wilson is (or was) part of a group that favors seccession and has no problem with slavery, and we're not supposed to think there was any racism in his outburst? -

My ancestors fought in the civil War also. One was in the 8th Alabamans. They did what they thought was the right thing then. Even though they were sharecroppers with no slaves. Does that mean I should be for slavery also? Slavery was wrong then and it is wrong now.
