IMO The best version available of one of Piaf's very best songs...
She looks like she's only just holding on, magnificently.
An inspiration at a rather difficult period in my life.

    French words:
    Non... rien de rien
    Non je ne regrette rien
Ni le bien... qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal, tout ça m'est bien égal...

    Non... rien de rien
    Non... je ne regrette rien
    C'est payé, balayé, oublié
    Je me fous du passé...

    Avec mes souvenirs
    J'ai allumé le feu
    Mes chagrins, mes plaisirs
    Je n'ai plus besoin d'eux

    Balayées les amours
    Avec leurs trémolos
    Balayés pour toujours
    Je repars à zéro

    Non... rien de rien
    Non... je ne regrette rien
Ni le bien, qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal, tout ça m'est bien égal...

    Non, rien de rien
    Non... je ne regrette rien
Car ma vie... car mes joies...
    Aujourd'hui... ça commence avec toi...

    English Words:
[Not my translation - I could have done a little better :) - maybe I still will..]

    No, nothing at all
No! I regret nothing at all
Neither the good that has been done for me
    nor the evil
It’s all the same to me

    No, nothing at all,
No! I regret nothing at all
everything is paid, swept away, forgotten
I don't care about the past!

    With my memories
    I lit the fire
    My sorrows, my pleasures,
    I don't need them anymore

My love stories are swept away
    with their trembling voices
    swept away forever
    I'm starting all over again

    No, nothing at all
No! I regret nothing at all
Neither the good that has been done for me
    nor the evil
It’s all the same to me

    No, nothing at all
No! I regret nothing at all
    Because my life, my joys,
    Today everything begins with you!

There was a film about her fairly recently for which I auditioned, unsuccesfully - NOT for the role of the little sparrow (La Môme Piaf)!
Very relieved that I missed out when I saw it - it was a real dog's dinner, alas.

When I was a child, my family did a house exchange in Belgium. Long story short- I was forced to listen to Edith Piaf. My brother and I tried to protest, but her voice is so infectious that by the end of the trip were all singing along. Daaaaaa daaaa DaaaaaaaAAA ....

I love French chansons, especially those of Edith Piaf. Thanks for posting the words!
