Encourage your dog to become accustomed to the costume idea.

Including your dog into the festivities this Halloween is one of the most fun things you will ever do. After you buy Halloween costumes for dogs, just ensure that your dogs also think it is fun.

First, make sure their costume fits! Your pet cannot tell you if something is too tight around their neck, so it’s up to you to know this. You should be able to comfortably fit your finger between your dog’s neck and anything on their neck, including their collar. If you cannot fit your finger comfortably under a garment around their neck, it is too tight! As for their collar, you don’t want it so lose it can come off, but it should not be binding either.

Make sure your dog is not tripping on their costume and not overheated in their costume. An overheated dog can quickly turn into a dehydrated dog which can turn into an emergency, so be wise
and dress them appropriately and make sure your dog has access to water.

If your dog has a tendency to chew on things other than bones, be certain that you monitor them while wearing their costume. A new outfit with colorful things sewn on it can be too much temptation for
your dog and all parts of costumes are not necessarily something safe for your dog to chew.

Make sure your pet can breathe comfortably in their costume. Costumes that cover their mouth, nose and face are not recommended.

So when you Buy Halloween Costumes for Dogs, be sure to follow the above suggestions.

Here are some tips to encourage your dog to become accustomed to the costume idea:

* Do not wait until Halloween night to put your dog’s Halloween costume on. Start a couple of weeks prior. Use treats to motivate him.
* Let your best friend sniff around the costume, drape it over him for a minute, give him a treat and praise. Do this a few times.
* Do the above on a daily basis, and leave the costume on longer each time. Then put the costume on him, loosely. Repeat what you have done in the tips above. A minute or so at first and then gradually
in longer increments. Accompany this with much praise and treats.
* If your best buddy becomes perturbed and upset, and just doesn’t like the idea of being dressed, forget the costume. A simple doggy t-shirt, Halloween collar or bandana may be a better option.

If your dog resists all efforts to dress, then just take your dog along as part of the family. Remember there are some adults and children who also don’t like dressing up.
