This is disturbing, and it shows, as Bill Moyers said recently to Bill Maher, lack of morality in American Society. He told Maher that Universal Health Care is evidence of a "deeply moral society," yet our finest and bravest* are excluded from private health insurance?

We must have a public option. There is NO other way to fix this mess.

      Public Option is a MUST.

This is the United States of America, a country formed by the People, of the People and for the People. We the People should have the right and ability to choose to pool our resources and determine our own choices for health care...especially if that involves using the very ability to join together as a People to establish a health care system that benefits all of We the People.

The Republican plan for health care reform has been written by the Insurance Industry, an industry wherein many of the primary players are not even U.S. registered. But that is the Republican plan and the desires and dreams of every neo-con traitor who posts here on Propeller. By using BS scare tactics, they turn We the People into "socialists" while they work to ENSLAVE the United States under a Corporatocracy, a Dictatorship of the CEOs. They claim to trumpet a free-market system yet the work diligently to prevent, at all costs, any option of choice in the market place. Instead, they want, as their Masters dictate to them, for all U.S. SUBJECTS to be forced to purchase insurance from an industry that would be 100% unregulated...an industry which currently exists under their own bloated bureaucracy. And the irony is is that these very neo-cons, the same ones who have supported the TAX and SPEND Republican party so vigorously, claim to be against "big government". What they don't realize is that the "big government" bureaucracy which exists under the Insurance Industry dwarfs any possible like situation which would be created by We the People and administered by individuals directly responsible and responsive to the People.

When has an Insurance Company EVER been responsive to their clients?

YES TO PUBLIC OPTION AND DOWN WITH REPUBLICAN BIG GOVERNMENT!!!

Must we have a "public option?"

I would vastly prefer single payer.

          It gets worse than this.

I have a friend. She was a first responder when the twin towers came down. Great person, a young mother, she's now dying because of the toxins she inhaled while working for weeks to free bodies from the rubble.

          Dying.

She still volunteers for public service programs, gives her hair to Locks of Love. And fights, constantly, with the NYC Workers Compensation, which regularly denies her medical claims.

She is far from being alone.

Many of the Sept. 11 first responders are ill, many have died. Congress STILL will not enact legislation to provide for their medical care. But you can bet every insincere sonofab!tch in congress will be speechifying about their heroic sacrifice, this and every Sept.11th, and forgetting about it come Sept. 12.

          Only in America.
