Jimmy Carters Race Problem »
Posted By pc25 3 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsWhen former president Jimmy Carter accuses the opponents of Barrack Obama’s policy of nationalizing broad aspects of our economy and spending us into bankruptcy of being “racists,” perhaps he should look in the mirror. In his 1982 book, Keeping Faith, Carter disingenuously said he “was not directly involved in the early struggles to end racial discrimination.” No kidding — in fact, he directly and unambiguously supported segregation.

When he makes such a claim, is he projecting his own inner racial beliefs? Is he so guilt-ridden over his past racist behavior that he wants to make amends to the race-baiters that today populate the Left? Or is he just cynically helping them score political points?
They trot out this guy and rally around his comments as if they were spoken from the burning bush. Towards the end of the week this story breaks along with his infamous "ethnic puritY" comment As expected when these stories come to light Obama and the Dems distance themselves from him and this useful idiot is thrown under the bus. -

White House throws Carter under the bus on race comments
Not the first time Jimbo’s caused The One some grief at an inopportune moment. Remember when he decided to go hug it out with Hamas just as the general election campaign was kicking off last year? “The president does not believe that — that the criticism comes based on the color of his skin,” Gibbs said. “We understand that people have disagreements with some of the decisions that we’ve made and some of the extraordinary actions that had to be undertaken by this administration and previous administrations to stabilize our financial system, to ensure viability of our domestic auto industry

He was generally a weak president, but he has done a lot for 3rd world countries since he left office. He just seems like the same paternalistic, preachy person he always was. I think he's just showing his age at this point. To say that if people disagree with Obama's views on political issues they are racists is just silly.

Maybe Spankovsky is trying to paint over his hatred of Native Americans by writing this article.

I love the "Carter's board" talk... sure, it was ALL Carter. Even today, school boards are not known for anything but being the most conservative part of municipal government, and tend to be painfully reactionary to any changes imposed by residents OR government.
It's too bad Spankovsky was deemed inferior and unsuitable for his "appointment" by President "three term failure" Bush.-

Oh the outrage.............Spakovsky contended that every voter should be required to produce a photo-identification card and that there was "no evidence" that such restrictions burden minority voters disproportionately.

Gee voter id, what a novel idea....in NY I have to produce photo id when I vote. I had to produce photo ID plus 2 pieces of mail with the same address before I was issued a library card from Nassau County. Gee nothing says un American more than requiring people to prove that they are eligible . I have a great idea for 2010. and beyond. Lets open the elections to everyone. Citizenship be damned. Apply for an absentee ballot and it doesn't matter where you are from. France, Germany Poland, Iran, Iraq, Russia, come one, come all.

gee, by that logic you wouldnt have a problem if the schools in Georgia were still segregated. You're agreeing that Carter was a member of the Sumter County School Board, which did not implement the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision handed down by the Supreme Court. Jimmah Carter..GOOD OL BOY......Son Of The Confederacy. Hey but thats ok, all is good, all is forgiven, he is in the tank for Obama.
Where is this great visionary's stand against segregation. His leadership on such an important matter as integration. He should have shut his mouth. Funny that as these stories about Carters record concerning civil rights started to come to light, Obama and the Dems began to distance themselves from Carter and his statements, but not before extracting as much political capital from it as possible. -

Hobe.... did he not tell the people , if they did not conserve energy and pursue alternate forms of energy, big problems would exist in the future. Maybe if we had listened, the energy crisis and middle east conflicts may have been avoided. Was Cater crazy??? No....Those who failed to hear the message were less than smart.
