The point of any scientific study is to compare similar periods -- summer with previous summers and winter with previous winters. If I remember correctly, 2007 was the first year that a non-icebreaking boat was able to navigate the northwest passage in recorded history.

Which means nothing in terms of GLOBAL warming. You've been told this over and over, yet you persist in saying "it snowed in my chicken's garage twice this winter" and other ridiculous things that have nothing to do with warming on a global scale. You are an idiot.
