I am reminded of Bill Buckley. It is always difficult for any conservative thinker to act on behalf of change, by definition conservatism seeks to avoid change and preserve exiting modes, institutions and social strata. But Bill, because he was a reasoned educated fellow was able to confess that he was wrong about his defense of racism in the 50's... At first he accepted the John Birchers (who were similar to the glenn beckers of today in their lunacy) but changed his mind and denounced them even though they supported republicans.

There seems to be no intellect in today's right wing. No thinkers. Just loud ignorant fallacious nonsense that lowers your IQ if you even try to follow the reasoning. I honestly lament this. Debate is limited to one party because the other has decided to become class clowns and throw spitballs instead of contributing in any way to reasonable discussion. Cry and wave a flag...works for some.
