Since the times of our ancient ancestors, humans have feared the spiders, snakes and lizards that dwell around us and despite the distance that we have put between us and them, our built in fear is still clearly present. However, science and not fear should drive our future interactions as we study the many potentially significant medical compounds in their venom.
