Gadhafi chastises UN for failing to prevent wars »
Posted By tehranchik 2 months, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsRipping up a copy of the United Nations Charter, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi on Wednesday chastised the world body for failing to intervene or prevent some 65 wars that have erupted around the world since the organization was founded in 1945.
Gadhafi called for a reform of the Security Council - abolishing the veto power of the five permanent members - or expanding the body with additional member states to make it more representative.
"It should not be called the Security Council, it should be called the "terror council," he said.

I'm no fan of that guy, but he certainly had the (rockware) this time! The UN has degenerated into more of an international activist group with sometimes a strong apparent political bias. Even its more noble causes have been often charged with corruption and mismanagement. The main original purpose was to handle/defuse international disputes for the purpose of preventing wars. That seems to be low on their agenda now.

The U N has stopped many wars.Africa is a prime example.These people in these refugee camps should be armed and trained to kill thugs who come to rape,steal,and yes wantonly murder.I would assume that the women pray that they don't get pregnant,or that their babies are still born rather than watch them starve,or wind up on the end of a thugs bayonet.To salve their conscious the U N sends in a truck load of crap that you wouldn't feed your dog.I've got more use for a pack stealing coyotes, than I do for the robber barron in the U N.
