Corrupt Border Officials Accepting Bribes from Illegal Immigrants Exposes U.S. to Terrorism Risk »
Posted By Newperson 2 months, 4 weeks ago in NewsWith evidence of corrupt U.S. border officials allowing illegal immigrants to enter the country in exchange for bribes, the FBI is concerned terrorists or materials that could be used in a terrorist attack might also slip through. "If you're a corrupt border official, and you're allowing illegal immigrants to come into the country, you're not going to know who you're letting in," Kevin L. Perkins, assistant director of the Criminal Investigative Division for the FBI, told ABC NewsIn one instance at the U.S.-Mexico border, FBI video surveillance obtained by ABC News caught a truck full of illegal immigrants pulling up to Customs and Border Protection officer Michael Gilliland, and being waved through his border inspection lane for $100,000, officials said. And in Texas, an undercover FBI operation allegedly caught a deputy sheriff in the act. Since 2004, 94 federal customs officials have been charged with mission-related corruption. The agency said it's taking the problem seriously and has been agressively expanding efforts to root out crooked employees.

WASHINGTON (October 24, 2001) — When the Census Bureau announced its decision last week concerning statistical adjustments to the 2000 Census, it also released, virtually unnoticed, its estimate that 8 million illegal aliens live in the United States.

Here's their problem...hindsight- understanding the nature of an event after it has happened; "hindsight is always better than foresight"

I would think that foresight would be better, especially when it concerns our ways and means. -

This has been going on for years. Now that america is so focused on terrorism all of a sudden people act like there shocked. These people that we trust to protect our borders should pay and it never should have ever happened the first time. Like Charlson said. They should be tried for treason.

Charge them with corruption and treason. Toss them in jail for a very long time and make sure everyone knows what happens when you break the law. If his acts caused a death, charge him as a co-conspirator. If it happened in a state with the death penalty, so be it.

We should hold higher standards for any politician, member of law enforcement or any other public service position. Break the law, do the time. No parole, no leniency, no plea deals, no mercy. -

It starts at the top. This is happening because little bush allowed it. And Obama hasn't had time to get them outta there yet. Remember those 2 border agents who were jailed for doing their job? The republicons had a chance to do something then, and just sat on their hands.

This is not nothing new, this corruption has been going on for decades and many border agents have retired with this bribe loot,we have been led to believe that our government is trying to address this and its bs,everything in this country makes money like the war on drugs, billions are spent on policing and drug prevention to treatment and recovery,so why would they halt this cash cow,the border enforcement is just one of the hundreds of money makers in our nation, the political arena is nothing more than a casino where politicians play and sell themselves to the highest bidder, everything is up for sale even our votes, sad what this nation has become !

Its funny in a way, our politicians like McCain and Obama and even former president Bush wanted to let them in for whatever behind the scenes political payoffs they were and are getting. The unions arent protesting illegals even though they are taking jobs from union memembers. The corrupt border agents etc are just doing what they see their big bosses doing. It doesnt make it right but the double standard here is apalling.

You are a liar! You can bet your bippy we are protesting vigorously against illegal immigration.
It all starts at the top. "The buck stops here".
Your "hero" little bush said "bring them on!" he obviously meant illegal aliens.

The problem of smuggling doesn't begin and end with terrorists. Most people are unaware that a million stolen autos in the US ares smuggled overseas. Most people are unaware that children are kidnapped off of American streets and sold overseas as sexual slaves. Most people are ignorant of the fact that America is the prime source for illegal firearms around the world.
Reply
All those tunnels found along the Mexican border? Whoever said goods only moved one way. How do white-collar criminals successfully evade American authorites? They pay their way aboard smuggling ships and planes traveling outbound. What does that have to do with terrorists trying to enter the U.S.? Simple enough. Smugglers (at least the biggest and most powerful of them), smuggle both ways.
All this means is if you want to stop terrorists entering the US, you have to stop smuggling traffic in both directions. Anything less amounts to whistling in a windstorm -

The Realizer, right on , I couldn't agree with you more on that. Legalize drugs, hell they're not going away no matter what kind of funky, stupid drug war is waged. Drug war, what a joke. As long as a poor mexican can come to the US and work a couple of years and set himself and his family up for a better life , then we're gonna have illegal immigration. The Border Patrol is just another corrupt government agency on the take, about as efficent as our wonderful police officers.

In my mind if a public employee betrays the public trust in this situation he should be put in jail for life, make sure everyone knows if they do this and get caught it is not going to be a slap on the hand or a simple resignation you are going to jail for a lifetime

The truth is that the drug LORDS have bought out our justice system. America is totally corrupt and eminently deserves to fall because we no longer have any moral standards.
The Romans were very proud of their citizen/soldiers at the beginning of their reign.
The Americans were very proud of their citizen/soldiers at the beginning of their reign.
The Romans depended upon mercenaries to defend them from the barbarians until the end.
America is spending far more money for mercenaries right now today than our Army is costing us.
Ponder that, Pinkie. -

YOU SHOULD ALL BE MORE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD POLICE, THEY ARE AS CORRUPT AS ANY POLICE FORCE CAN BE...WHEN YOU TURN POLICING INTO A REVENUE FOR TAXES IT HAS NO RULES NO BOUNDARIES. ITS CALLED A POLICE STATE AND YOU ALL ARE LIVING IN ONE. THE CITIZENS NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR FREEDOMS AND STOP THE ABUSES OUR SO CALLED PROTECTIVE SERVICES ARE INGAGING IN DAILY.

That is your republicon "government"in action. You had 8 years to do something. Instead YOU turned your collective backs and hoped no one would complain. You squandered a generation's wealth by sending our mercenaries to the other side of the planet to fight a war for corporate profit. This course of inept government left our borders wide open. Also, your idea of politicians open to the highest bidder led to the bizarre spectacle of Border Patrol Agents being sent to jail for doing their job. The morally corrupt politicians and judges responsible should have been sent to the Alutian Islands for the rest of their mortal lives. Instead you republicons gave them kudos for a job well done.

The FACT is tha niether side has done anything on the immigration issue. Enforcing the laws would be a good start but that seems to be to much for these two parties.

Miklkit- Obama hasn"t had time. Well he has time for disputes on campus, he has time for Letterman, ect. How about time to deal with illeagal immigration? Oh maybe that would lose some votes. -

IF WE CAN PROVE THE GUARDS ARE TAKING BRIBES , THEN BY ALL MEANS LINE THEM UP AND SHOOT THEM. THEYARE TERRORIST. YES, MY STATEMENT MAY BE STERN, BUT OUR PENALTYS FOR WRONG DOINGS ARE TOO LIGHT. GIVE THE PRICKS AND FUTURE PRICKS SOMETHING TO FEAR FOR WRONG DOING.. SIMPLE AS THAT
