If The motive was robbery why is this a hate crime. Same with Mathew Shepperd.

I suspect that you havent read the whole article, The Murderer made a statment and the statment was:

Ryan Skipper, a gay college student, was stabbed 20 times on March 14, 2007, his lifeless body left near a rural road in Polk County. One of the two accused killers told witnesses he was "doing the world a favor by getting rid of one more f-----."

Robbery may have been the motive, But as we all (most anyway) That Gays and lesbians are often targeted by hateful people. Who dont understand and not willing to accept that 2 men or women can love each other.

What I do know is no matter who the person is they should be respected. And this type of crime should not be tolerated by any means.
