America doesn't need a sermon on race or civility right now. What it needs is to believe that our leaders are trying to do the right thing, no matter how inconvenient, and if they forge ahead and fix health insurance, then the ragemeisters of the Right will find other hobbies.

This is a pretty good assessment of the situation. I would also add that the noisemakers demands are so extreme and ridiculous not because they, or any reasonable persons actually believe or want such buffoonery, but because negotiating from such extreme positions means that getting what appears to be a "compromise" is actually exactly what they would want..."please don't throw us in the briar patch!...you liar!!!!"

As much as I'd love to hear the President call them jackasses I think he is handling it very well. I loved his response to Letterman the other night when he said, 'I was actually black before the election' He's handling it with class and people like Limbaugh and Beck are swimming around in sewage.
