Here are the lyrics to the two songs. First the song "in praise" of Bush:
Reply
"Our country's stood beside us People have sent us aid. Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade. Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!"
And the Obama song:
"Uhm, uhm, uhm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said all should lend a hand to make the country strong again
Uhm, uhm, uhm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today, equal work means equal pay
Uhm, uhm, uhm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said take a stand, make sure everyone gets a chance
Uhm, uhm, uhm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said red, yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight
Uhm, uhm, uhm, Barack Hussein Obama
YEAH. Barack Hussein Obama"
To those who seize upon this as "evidence of the hypocrisy of the right", or that these two songs are in any way equal, I have nothing to say. We live in different worlds with different values, and communication would be unproductive. Please do not respond to my post.
To those who are without such attitudes, I hope you can see the differences between the two songs, and adjust your evaluation of the credibility of The Huffington Post accordingly.-

As unproductive as it may seem avoth, besides not wanting to hear any criticism about your comment, what is it that you object to in the song?
Do you object to every one "lending a hand"?
Or is it "Equal work means equal pay"?
Maybe it's "To make sure everyone gets a chance".
Well if it’s not any of those it surely must be "All are equal in his sight".
Maybe this is more to your liking:

Let's break down the 2 songs.
" all should lend a hand to make the country strong again" - I guess you do NOT want to make the country strong again.
"we must be fair today, equal work means equal pay." - Women and minorities should get less pay for equal work in your belief system. Right?
"take a stand, make sure everyone gets a chance" - Of course this is silly. Only the CEO's. mortgage dealers, bankers should get chances at huge bonuses. All those who lost their jobs and lost their homes do not deserve any chance.
"red, yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight" - Absurd. All blacks are racist because they voted for Obama. So why can't whites be racist too? White power!!! YYEEAAHHHH!
"YEAH. Barack Hussein Obama" - How dare these innocent little children be taught to look up to their president. Nah. He's a black guy. We should all insult him, like shouting "You lie" to his face.
Now let's look at the song Bush got -
"Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade" Why, that is absolutely true. Their hopes will never fade because their hopes will never be fulfilled. By golly, those hopes will be around forever waiting for Bush to rescue them.
"Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand" - Oh, how sweet. Bush and FEMA rebuilding New Orleans. Why, looking at New Orleans now, you couldn't even tell anything had happened there at all!!
And you know, all those pictures of Hitler and Mao Tse Tung holding hands with kids - all staged, all fake. But Bush joined hand in hand with all those little children, why, that's the real deal! No wonder all the children of the land should love Bush and want to join him hand in hand.
You know. I actually agree with you, avoth. These 2 songs are really NOT in any way equal.

As requested, I won't respond to "avoth's" post, which is nonetheless reminiscent of the never ending e-mail screeds distributed by wingnuts, always ending "if you agree with the above, pass it on--if not, delete it."

Of course, here we can only "neg" that which we would otherwise delete. -

"Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together..." So that's the "Bush" song. The wording is right before huffingtons eyes! Too bad they didn't actually read it as they slipped it into their article in a vain attempt to give a little poke in the eye to anyone who dares to not be a democrat. The so called "praise" covers just about everyone! Congress, the president, emergency relief groups (FEMA), and... "People across our land Together". This includes democrats, republicans, "undecideds", Hollywood actors, religious groups, schools and everyone else who gave time or money to help out. This in NO WAY at all compares to what is virtually a chant that repeats one single persons name over and over again. That's the kind of stuff you would expect to see in cults or dictatorship type societies. Looks like huffingtons misguided attempt at raising controversy simply poked their OWN eye! They didn't account for the fact that people might actually read what they put in the article.

Mr_Sir, since you are from New Zealand you may not be up to date on American politics.

When hurricane Katrina hit the Louisiana coast on Monday, August 29 2005 the Presidency, and both houses of Congress were held by the Republican Party, and FEMA was under the control of the executive branch. So by default that song of praise was an exaltation of the Republican Party.
The only thing they left out was "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job".

Rush the latest in conservative media pile-on over kids-sing-for-Obama nonstory
Reply
Anyway, Rush returned to the conservative nonstory of the week, comparing the children-singing video to what happens in Cuba and Venezuela, calling the teacher leading the exercise a nutjob. Then Rush went on about how "everyone" is "mad as hell" about the stimulus, how people "do not want" Obama's health care plan, and bemoaned how it is being crammed down people's throats. Rush even made the bizarrely false claim that Obama will not let anybody read the health care bills being considered. We call that strange since they're all available via this thing called "the Internet."

This is the best the Obama worshipers can do? A song so generic it expresses the same gratitude to Bush as it does all Americans who sent material and financial assistance to the Gulf Coast region? A song of gratitude in the aftermath of a disaster, none of which applies to the Burlington, NJ, school?

That's why it's so futile to educate liberals. They cannot process information any other way than to run information through their ideological filter. It's FIGO: "Facts in, garbage out."-

Because the school that performed the Obama praising is a recipient of federal funding this makes that teacher a federal employee and that teacher violated the Hatch Act when she taught the song to the students as the Hatch Act prohibits partisan political participation in the influence of such minds as little children have.
Reply
There were incidences of teachers instructing children to get their parents to vote for Obama, they hung posters up in their classrooms as well, also a violation of the Hatch Act which, again due to funding these schools receive from the federal government prohibited, and the perpetrators of these acts need to find their way before a judge, pay fines AND be incarcerated for these flagrant violations of federal law.
BUT, because it is democrats in power Justice will only be flaunted. Good luck as Communism takes over due to Pelosi, Reed, and YES, Obama who was raised by communists.
