None of this means a damn thing. EVERYONE - and I definitely INCLUDE politicians - uses statistics to LIE. Do YOU trust the Canadian statistics? Do you KNOW how they are generated. Do you KNOW that the comparisons are fair? Do you UNDERSTAND that everyone in these freaking socialist countries really pays MORE for health care than we do, but because the costs are collected in various hidden (or sometimes NOT so hidden) TAXES and may not be counted that it only LOOKS like their system is less expensive? Here's how you can tell something real about this: If you got really ill - would YOU go to Canada to seek treatment? I didn't think so...

Why are we supposed to believe an anonymous stranger
Reply
who gibbers that everyone lies, and all statistics are fraud?
- and disbelieve a study from a reputable source with a clear
set of definitions and measures?
If you have worked out a second and more real
model of how health care is paid for in diferent nations,
don't you want to publish it?
When you do,
don't pose dumb questions for your readers and then
answer them yourself; particularly with I didn't think so....
That is just embarrasing. -

they don't pay more for healthcare, and every indicator proves that out (cost of health care as percentage of GDP, personal out of pocket costs for healthcare, cost of health care as a proportion of taxes, etc all say we pay the most BY FAR)
I know its easier to go with what you believe rather than whats true, but c'mon. time to face reality.-

I have a hard time believing ANY reports or statistics that come from a government. Sorry, they have a long history of ... well, let's say, "embellishing" the facts to look the way they WANT them to look. DO THOSE government offices have an ACCURATE way of examining the true costs of their health care? How do you know? I don't trust them. I have not REASON to trust them. Do they have a reason to "embellish" the truth? I'd say, yes - they do. If they ADMIT that their socialist program is in fact more expensive than it should be (Canada's IS in serious trouble, you do realize?) how could they keep the voters from rebelling? It's just like The Barry LYING about not increasing taxes to pay for health care, then in the very next breath talking about a "surtax" or a "value-added" tax to pay for it. Or encouraging legislation that FORCES people to either pay for insurance or pay a big fine (or go to prison). THAT'S A TAX! I don't care WHAT the idiots in D.C. call it, if the government is taking money away from you by force - THAT'S A TAX!

OF COURSE the W.H.O. has the same stats. They undoubtedly ARE the EXACT SAME stats. What, do you think there are actually SEVERAL organizations going around collecting the same data? Fool. They ALL use the SAME data. Which means they are ALL tilted the same way. Man, you need to find a crowbar and see if you can somehow prize your head out of your kiester. You are MUCH too gullible.
