CLINTON, Indiana - When Sally Harpold bought cold medicine for her family back in March, she never dreamed that four months later she would end up in handcuffs. Harpold bought one box of Zyrtec-D cold medicine for her husband at a Rockville pharmacy. Less than seven days later, she bought a box of Mucinex-D cold medicine for her adult daughter at a Clinton pharmacy, thereby purchasing 3.6 grams total of pseudoephedrine in a week’s time. Those two purchases put her in violation of Indiana law.

There are also laws regarding talking to someone on a cell phone whilst driving, and jaywalking. But are these laws strictly enforced? This is a useless, and unneeded show of force thrusted unnecessarily upon a benign, and doting grandmother of triplets. What a waste of taxpayer money!

Sounds to me like this is wrong. Hey if they are going to arrest people for buying it stop selling it over the counter.

        Pharmacies post “Meth Watch” signs,>>>>>

I'm a grandmother. If I walked into a pharmacy and saw a "Meth Watch" sign, I wouldn't stop to read it. But if the person taking my money said "there's a law that doesn't allow you to buy more than 3.6 gms of pseudo-ephedrine in a seven day period, and your purchase will be monitored. So be sure you haven't bought any other cold medicine containing pseudo-ephedrine in the last seven days before you buy this," I'd get it right away. That took about 15 seconds to say out loud.
If you're going to pass laws, then get the information out (reasonably) to the public. Don't stick up signs that no one will read.
