U.S. commander in Afghanistan talked with Obama only once
By Amanda Carpenter on Sept. 28, 2009 into The Back Story
The military general credited with capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, says he has spoken with President Obama only once since taking command in Afghanistan.
"I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconference]," Gen. Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.
"You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?" Mr. Martin followed up.
"That is correct," the general replied.

"This revelation comes amid the explosive publication of a classified report written by the general that said the war in Afghanistan "will likely result in failure" if more troops are not added next year.
Yet, the debate over health care reform continues to dominate Washington’s political discussions.'"-

Rumor has it that the French and Brits are steaming over Obama's decision to disclose Iran's new nuclear sites at the G20 conference, rather than at the UN. But Obama didn't want Iran's cheating to get in the way of his nuclear disarmament speech.

He was too busy to talk to McCrystal he and Valerie were too busy conferencing with Oprah planning their Olympics Campaign. Campaigning is all Obama and his gang understand. Obama will still be campaigning when he's has to leave the White House. What a useless pos on top of everything else.

"lobby the International Olympic Committee to select his hometown of Chicago for the 2016 summer games."

I realize this might be off topic here, but this line gets me, he's not originally from Chicago. He is just using it for recognition. Who would vote for a guy from somewhere in Hawaii, or where ever he was actually born and raised. I'm not using this to go into the birther thing here.
I was born and raised in Chicago, moved to Arkansas 6 years ago. Does that mean I'm an Arkansasan? No, I consider myself a Chicagoan. Obama was not born there nor did he grow up there. He does not automatically get to claim that he is from Chicago because he lived there for, what 12 years or something like that, As an adult!!! No!! Now he lives in DC, does that mean that he is a Washingtonian, DC-ian, or what ever they refer to themselves as? No!! After he leaves there and moves to, I don't know, lets say Texas or California, does that mean that he is now a Texan or a Californian? No!!
Please don't embarass the people of Chicago by saying that he is from there, he's not, plain and simple. He just lived there for a couple of years. -

Maybe if General McChrystal would go to Copenhagen, wear civilian clothes with a name tag showing his name and rank in prominent letters, and camp out at the meeting place of the IOC's Site Selection Committee, he might get a chance to talk to his Politician-in-Ch-- (Oh, excuse me, I mean his Commander-in-Chief) in between one of his many media appearances.........

Well, whaddayouknow!
General McChrystal went to Copenhagen, and the Politician-in-Ch-- (Oh, excuse me, I mean his Commander-in-Chief) actually had time to meet with him for an entire 30 minutes after The Obama finished his speech to the OIC, about bringing the Olympics to Chicago.
Priorities, you know.....
Now, since The Obama's attempt has failed to bring the Olympics to the city by the lake, perhaps he can concentrate a bit more on his wars. You know, the ones where thousands of American service personnel place themselves in harm's way daily.....
Priorities, you know.......

I've heard that 0Bama is in the process of evaluating the data and facts, ie popularity and political opinion polls, about Afghanistan before he makes a decision.

however, I would think that info about the war from his hand picked General should be included in all of that important data. But McCrystal's opinion would not be a popularity or political opinion poll; McCrystal's 'opinion' would be an informed assessment of a real war situation where people are dying. -

It would be nice if 0bama would stick around long enough to do his job properly instead of worrying bout TV appearances and such....... although he really doesn't do a very good job of doing his job. Last night's opener to Saturday Night Live pretty much summed it up.
