59, there isn't an excuse. If he committed the crime, charge him. That's the only way to disbar him. Since the crimes occurred in DC, that means the DA is a liberal. He or she would have been all over him. Why didn't the charge him? Not enough actual evidence? Perhaps there were other names in the logs that would hurt the Dems? I don't know. What I do know is that both sides, if given the chance will make (pardon the term) a political kill shot at any opponents now. If they didn't go after him, there's a good reason. I suspect if you go down this path, there would be much bigger names. I say take the chance. As far as the GOP is concerned, we need to clean out the Rinos and those simply not worthy of holding political office. Unlike many Dems, I want the best people in office. In most cases it would be a conservative but I have met a couple liberals that aren't too bad.

Well just look at the Democrat party. Gerry Studds was lauded as forward thinking when it came out he had an affair with an underage male page on a trip. Barney Frank had a male prostitution ring running from his house and the Democrats ignore that. Get that beam out of your own eye before trying to get that mote out of your neighbors eye.

This kind of thing can go back and forth all day.

If he's guilty, that means he hired an adult escort or escorts. That is a violation and the police could go after him. Acorn, in there business development group gave out advice on how to hide a child prostitution ring in three different cities. Those offices are bought and paid for by US taxpayers. So let's see. A Senator who would get what, a fine? Perhaps 30 days? Or Acorn workers clearly supporting the concepts of child Prostitution?

Does that actually sink into a liberal's mind or is it soooooo left, you see child prostitution as little more than today's version of a paper route?

"could this be tit for tat?

for that matter, shouldn't Max Baucus be up on that same charge?"
--A better couple of questions to ponder, beavy... ,What does it say about cons that your moral code is contingent upon what the other guy does? Why is the concept of doing the right thing (iow, doing right by *yourself*) so repugnant to you people?

While I find Vitter's act repulsive since he hasn't been charged with anything, this is little more than a typical witch hunt. If you're going to go after his license, then you'll also want to make sure you're prepared to go after Acorn also.

Again, I am offended and question his values, but what he did or is alleged to have done is no where near the level that Acorn did. Add to that, Acorn staff were taped recommending how to not only bring in illegal aliens into this country but they were to be children and they were to work in the sex trade. So we have an attorney who may have called on an prostitute or we have an entire organization heavily subsidized by the taxpayers, recommending how to set up a child prostitution ring in at least 3 major cities. I'm sorry, this attempted smoke screen doesn't get close.-

At the time, the senator confirmed in a statement that he did in fact seek Palfrey's services: "This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible."
D.C. and Louisiana Law maintain that the solicitation of prostitution is a crime.
So we have an attorney who admits soliciting prostitution and an organization who fired employees who fell for a sting operation and gave inappropriate advice (there never was any child prostitution ring--it was made up by the "filmmaker")--yet committed no crime.

There is jovial not thinking about the poster boy for the Democrats. Gerry Studds had an affair with an underage male page on a trip. After that came out he was censured by the ethics committee and then lauded as forward thinking and given a chairmanship of a committee.

"In 2007, Vitter's telephone number was found in the client list of the "D.C. Madam," or Deborah Jeane Palfrey, operator of a high-profile prostitution ring. At the time, the senator confirmed in a statement that he did in fact seek Palfrey's services: "This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible."
D.C. and Louisiana Law maintain that the solicitation of prostitution is a crime. Under Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct, it is professional misconduct for a lawyer to "commit a criminal act especially one that reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other aspects." CREW argues that the solicitation of prostitution is a crime, and by engaging in such criminal activity repeatedly, Vitter violated law and should be investigated and disciplined.
The complaint filed against Vitter emerged as a response to his push for an investigation into the community organization ACORN. Melanie Sloan, CREW's executive director said:
Sen. Vitter's zeal to see ACORN criminally investigated for offering advice in setting up a prostitution ring reminded me he has yet to be held accountable for his own role in a prostitution ring... "While ACORN's conduct is indefensible, so is Sen. Vitter's and what is good for the goose is good for the gander."
So lets see !!! He is a lawyer and a Senator so that makes him above the law ????
Hmmmmmmm !!!!! I don't think so !!!!

Good advice From Jesus. The Democrats need to do that. They have too many examples of praising and looking the other way with their congressmen. Gerry Studds and Barney Frank for example. This back and forth attacks solves nothing except make people angry.

What democrat out there has enough credibility to defeat him.I estimate substantial defeats for the leftist democrats, and substantial increases for blue dogs, and fantastic gains for republicans. This is in the senate, and the house.I also predict the demise of many socialist Czars soon.
