House GOP Leader John Boehner (Ohio) told reporters yesterday that, based entirely on his empirical experience, there aren't any supporters of an optional government-run health-insurance plan. He described the government option -- which is favored by 57% of Ohioans and 72% nationwide -- as being as "unpopular as a garlic milkshake." He also acknowledged that by making this claim, he was inviting the plan's supporters to call him: 202-225-6205 (DC), 513-779-5400 (Ohio).
