The veterans medical center in La Jolla, California, and a clinic in nearby Mission Valley are two good medical centers, and the opinion of veterans, high.

For every Rick Tanner you quote, I can find 100 who will disagree with him. NO ONE is saying preserve the status quo. NO ONE! We want TORT REFORM (caps on punitive damages and lawyers fees with the loser paying the winners costs). We want INTERSTATE ACCESS to insurance (compete for our dollars). We want SOME REGULATION and STRICT OVERSIGHT of insurance and drug companies. We want our elected reps to DETECT, INVESTIGATE/PROSECUTE, and ELIMINATE the corruption and waste in SS, Medicare/Medicaid, VA services, and all gov't agencies now operating. We want Congress and the Pres to THROW THEIR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS UNDER THE BUS, and actually do something for the benefit of the American citizens. This is CHANGE WE CAN SUPPORT. Stop protecting those big money people who fund your re-election, and who promise you the means to increase YOUR OWN wealth and power. Show some integrity and do the job you swore to do when you were elected.

How dare you call veterans health care socialise medicine. You are not only stupid, but way off base. These men,and women earned their benefits just like the people on medicare. How many plans call for premiums to be collected in my case forty four years before I could access it.No free ride here. Please don't use the word socialise, and veterans in the same breath. Its a put down.

I've always heard such bad things about the VA. It is nice to read something positive. As for the electronic system, I've heard mixed things about it from my friends in the health care industry. I wish that the reporter interviewed nurses and doctors and lower staff members to get their opinions.
