That is both heart wrenching and sickening. I felt physically ill watching it and am crying as I type this. As a mother of a bright, beautiful, happy and amazing 21 month old little girl, I get so angry when I see children treated in this matter. I myself was a victim of physical abuse, and by that I do not mean an odd spanking. I went to school at the age of 6 with a black eye, given to me by my mother, and social services were called. They believed my mother when she told them that I was playing ball outside and got hit when it bounced off of the fence. For the next 10 years, every few months social workers were called in, but nothing was done. The neighbours called the police on my mother starting when I was 10 until I was 16. From the time that I was 13 they were showing up at our door weekly. Then one night a police officer pulled me aside at the hospital and told me that he feared that the next time he showed up at our door that one of us would be dead, and it would probably not be my mother. A week later I faked a suicide attempt and was sent to the hospital for observation. After threatening to finish the job if I was sent back home, I was finally sent into foster care, but by then it was almost too late.

I no longer speak to my mother, for I see her as a harm to my daughter and will lay down my life for my little girl. Sorry to go into so much detail, however I think that this is an important message to convey. NO child should have to fear pain being caused by those who should love them and care for them. RIP to Baby Peter and all of the angels that have left this earth due to this disgusting crime.
I think I am going to go peak in on my daughter now and kiss her cheek and just watch her sleep.
