The incident occurred Sept. 14 on a Shoshone Forest grazing allotment belonging to Gerald Schneider of Clark and Bernard Bjornestad of Powell. Itâ??s close to the Natural Corral area near Bald Ridge and adjacent to the Two Dot Ranch. The attack on the cows was witnessed by an unidentified hunter, who described the incident in a widely distributed e-mail. The hunter said:

Gee, welcome to the wild. That's what predators do. They take down their prey and kill them, and their prey suffers. Animals need food. They have an instinct to survive, and they kill to eat. People kill to eat. It's the way nature designed survival. So kill all the predators in the wild. That'll work. Uh huh.
