Media Matters: Right-wing media lynch mob gay-baits White House, facts be damned »
Posted By chuck-the-canuck 2 months ago in Political OpinionFor the better part of a week, conservatives in the media have been on a witch hunt for Kevin Jennings, the director of the Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. Led by Fox News, the right-wing media have claimed that 21 years ago, when Jennings was a 24-year-old teacher at Concord Academy in Massachusetts, he "cover[ed] up statutory rape" by not reporting to authorities a conversation he had with a student who told him about being involved with an "older man."
The attacks on Jennings, the latest Obama administration official in the right's crosshairs, have been disgusting, misleading, baseless, and at times pointedly anti-gay.

Well the question would be, did he cover it up? From what it looks like he did. That's newsworthy is it not? Don't get mad that FOX is actually presenting the a news story and the news you watch isn't because they are in the tank for Obama.

If it were the Bush administration and the same thing happened the other guys would be running the story 24-7.-

From the article:
Reply
"Jennings' attorney wrote that the student was 16 years old at the time of the incident, which is, and was at the time, the legal age of consent in Massachusetts."
That means there was no statutory rape, and therefore nothing to cover up--and no news story to report. If Jennings didn't make the student's story public, that's a good thing--it was a private matter. -

If the media is so liberal, why did we never hear about this on any of the networks?

Jennings was the founder and president of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, otherwise known as GLSEN, which has been the foremost activist in promoting homosexuality in public schools. Among GLSEN’s contributions to American education was their sponsorship of a Massachusetts public school youth workshop called, “What They Didn’t Tell You About Queer Sex & Sexuality in Health Class.” The workshop offered mechanics on homosexual practices.
Reply
Jennings also wrote the foreword to a book titled, Queering the Elementary Education. The title alone ought to worry all parents. Jennings believes we ought to start teaching about homosexuality in kindergarten.
And Jennings is supposed to be the "safe schools" czar? This is just plain sick. Keep political agendas out of our schools! -

So lets say we leave this guy alone let him do what he does for Obama and schools do start teaching kids to Be HOMOS, then what will those that say this guy is doing nothing wrong have to say. well you protest that being taught in schools ???? if you are okay with that subject being taught then your next step would be to start teaching kids about using Abortion as a form of birth control, i mean really if you have sex and get pregnant you have nothing to worry about just suck it out and then in 2 weeks you are good to have sex again , no mess no fuss

Ahh come on now, I know someone on the left has some insult or deranged comment for me about my post, and i know someone on the left has a way to say that if it is taught in schools it will be Bushs Fault. i know someone on the left agrees that all this stuff should be taught in schools cause then they dont have to discuss it with their kids cause the school will. and the Abortion as birth Control would be covered under Obamas Health care scam so it would be cheap for the left to not parent their kids.

PatrioticAmerican strides down the sidewalk, shouting.
Reply
"They are teaching our children to be homos! "
A youn woman pushes a baby carriage in a wide circle past him.
A teen at the bus stop rolls his eyes and looks away.
A plane flies overhead.
PatrioticAmerican shouts up to it;
Come on! Blame Bush whydon't you!
Patriotic stomps down the sidewalk to the alley
where men sit beside old bottles and broken lives.
He waves his arms to them, pleading:
"Abortion as birth Control would be covered under
Obamas Health care scam so it would
be cheap for the left to not parent their kids."
The winos stare blearily at him a moment;
- then they stagger to their feet and shuffle away.
A pigeon is pecking at an old candy wrapper.
PatrioticAmerican bends down at shouts at it
"Ahh come on now, I know someone on the left has some
insult or deranged comment for me about my post."
The pigeon turns its head to study Patriotic a second; considering.
Then it wings up out of the dead alleyway,
up into the sky and freedom where all is silence except
for light.

You had no idea.
You merely hoped someone,
somewhere, would just briefly
make eye contact before hurrying on.
And for the record: You aren't a patriotic american
because you disaprove of everyone
who doesn't wear some variation
of your face.
