Something is Wrong in America »

Something is wrong in America and in a government of, by and for the people, we're the only ones who can make it right. I don't know about you but I'm sick of all the wingnuts on TV declaring that healthcare reform is going to kill my grandma, that climate change is a myth, that our president, who's only been in office 9 months, is a socialist and responsible for the last 30 years of Republican misadventures. If you're as sick and tired as I am of the politics in America today, check out this video. There's something we can do, but we're all going to have to stand up and take to the streets and make our voices heard.

It's not only the Republicans (thought mostly them) but both sides need to start working for the people again. We need to force both sides to do what's right for this country not just what gets them reelected.

Obama IS a socialist. His friends are socialists. His sentiments are socialist.

Socialism is a simple thing. It's government control over the means of production and all other aspects of human life-- fascism by other means. Conservatives and libertarians trust Americans with the freedoms given us in the constitution. Obama and his cronies and supporters want to enlarge government so that every person is answerable to some bureaucracy for every thought and action. He may deny it but that is the unavoidable result of the large government he has worked for since his first day.

Politics in America has become as useless as American Idol, and almost as popular.

Republicans and Democrats in Washington are both lining up to collect hard earned money from citizens in the form of "campaign contributions". These dollars do not come directly from our pockets to theirs, (although that's what Obama's camp tried to pass off), but rather in the form of corporate donations from a few groups of powerful people. These groups are trying to do what is best for themselves.

They are giddy as Glen Beck after RIO got the nod, when it comes to stirring up strife between the two parties.

Look at talk radio. In the beginning, you had a guy doing a two-minute segment on what his position was for a particular subject. Mybe it was "Is Nixon out of his mind", or "Has Carter gone NUTS"

Mow you have entire industries, whose sole product is opinion. Rush, Bill Price, Hannity, Colbert, Coulter, and hundreds of others are cashing in on this. And the end result is that we lose out on good governnment.
Can you imagine what would happen if common sense showed up in Washington? I can tell you. The first thing would be to cut the salaries and perks of all those in politics. Take away the travel, the "gifts", the pensions, and let them know, that as the country goes, that's how they go".

If a Senator from Michagan had to sign up for food stamps, because most of the people in Michagan had to, he might start working a little harder to figure out a solution for his people, because then it helps himself.

Right now, the Right and Left are making tons of money by playing up this rift between the two. They try to excite those into getting so mad at the other party, that they donate all they can to get those bums out of office. And where does all that money go?

That is a very interesting question. Campaign money can be used for just about anything. And when the politician wins or loses, he still keeps whatever is in his fund to use at his discretion. Makes me want to run for office.

Vote for me, I'll set ya free... Rap on brother, rap on...

This person obviously has no idea of the history of the last 30 years as he/she writes as if one party alone got us into this fix and his/her favored party wasn't even involved or sitting on the side lines.

I notice on Saturday and Sunday there are Hundreds of thousands of people at ball games and they all know the players names and records .But when a politico rally comes up ther is less than fifty people and most of them are not well informed .Why is this? Is a ball game going to affect your life more than a politico that is bent on robbing you blind? GO FOGURE.

In every population there are some who, by ability and obstinacy, must rise to dominance. (Hobbs said that.) To oppose the total serfdom such individuals will inflict upon us we must band together in groups which select leaders who are of similar ability and obstinacy. (I said that.)

Our snarling, clawing, multi-party system, including libertarians, socialists, conservatives, raza-ists and others besides democrats and republicans is the best and only alternative to tyranny.
