As a lesson to our Right Wing friends:

Do you see how we on the so called left are willing to do/say such a thing and question our elected, rather than marching in lockstep support of whatever your leaders say even if they contradict each other? Which is a difficult thing to do without looking like a hypocrite. -

Colbert is on target as usual. I watch his show and the Daily Show on the internet since I don't have a television. He does a great job of exposing foolishness and hypocrisy where ever it comes from. Its hard not to get frustrated with the Democrats given that there is a mandate for health care reform and its being held up by a few closet Republicans and who are obviously indebted to industry lobbyist. We need to get this information out there and keep in in the public view. There should be a website that posts the money that lawmakers receive from lobbyists and correlates it with their voting records. Maybe they are shameless so it would have no effect but I believe over time, it might make a difference if these bums get voted out of office. Health care reform enjoys overwhelming support. We need some one who is willing to take these special interest on in an aggressive and very public fashion.

Franklin Roosevelt was the leader in his day that took it to the enemy. He turned on his own class and was referred to as a class traitor by increasing income taxes on the wealthy and spending money to provide jobs for the unemployed and relief for the poor. He said he "welcomed their contempt". I like Obama, but sadly, I think he is too nice when it comes to mixing it up with the Republicans and the opposition. Bipartisanship only works when the opponent has any interest in being reasonable. In this case we need good old fashioned arm twisting and log rolling in the vein of LBJ and Roosevelt. If I were Obama, I would expose these enemies from within and pointedly ask them why they are more interested in these contributors than answering the mandate of the American people. Its time to turn the screws. -

I think if these Senators (with their heads up their asses) started receiving copies of millions of Americans' health bills in their mail it would definitely make a statement and possibly have a profound affect on these individuals (as in...they would realize we are paying attention to what they do!).

I think all of us should copy our medical bills that isn't covered by insurance to Max Baucus and his blue dog democrats. Maybe then he'll realize the magnitude of the problems all Americans face. Nah, he can't or won't because of the blinders he wears bought by the insurance and health care industry.
