Steve Schmidt: Palin 2012 Would be "Catastrophic" Pick »
Posted By mesodude 1 month, 3 weeks ago in Political NewsCalling Sarah Palin a potentially "catastrophic" choice for the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, John McCain's former chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt said today the Republican party needs to look more toward the center.
"I think she has talents, but my honest view is that she would not be a winning candidate for the Republican party in 2012," he said. "Were she to be the nominee, we could have a catastrophic election result."

Keep these stories coming middle man. Maybe your hero in your avatar could run with her to balance the ticket. The more the radical liberals rant the more conservatives know they have a winner. Keep the stories and rants coming. The more the better.

A reminder this is a woman who spent the majority of her higher education at a community college. We don't see the transcripts of course but there is nothing to lead us to believe that she distinguished herself even at that level. She was sneaky enough to make sure she actually graduated from the University of idaho but she only went there for a couple of semesters. And the U. of Idaho is hardly a highly regarded institution of higher learning. Slaughtering moose and shooting wolves from helicopters doesn't impress me either.

I watched her speak and trust me there was no real deep thought going on. She was just punching the crowds buttons. She basically preached hate instead of espousing much of anything regarding policy positions. And she was obviously targeting a specific crowd by using "Redneck Woman" as her theme. No worries about killing diversity here! Palin herself calls for simplistic thinking which gets pretty dangerous when you are dealing in foreign policy. And I don't see any great brain trust around her either. Her popularity is largely on the Far Right and I am sorry but there ain't much deep thinking going on there either. The world simply isn't just black and white. That is why Bush and the neocons he recruited failed so miserably on foreign policy, Palin is not even on their level. The neocons would overwhelm her quickly and once again we would stop talking to the rest of the world.
She claims to speak for the common man but corporate America would be the one that would benefit from her economic beliefs. The rest of us will once again pick up the crumbs. Of course that is pretty much the case with any potential GOP candidate. The rift between the haves and have nots has continued to expand but there is seldom a shortage of poor and middle class GOP dupes to support that continuing. Guns, Bibles, and beer baby! That's all it takes to rick the weak minded. -

Don't you have some gay people to oppress?
"She is human and is not so full of herself" This statement is only half true, let's ask Peggy Hill which part is false ne?
"She is more intelligent than a lot of liberals 'think' she is."
Okay OKAY OKAY I'll give her credit where credit is due.... her IQ is 90, not 45, I'm sorry. Sorry everybody, we have to agree her IQ is at least 90, Maggie Gallagher is complaining..

Would not be more catastrophic then Obama is.... Now they are talking about sending 40 thousand more troops to Afghanistan. There is a historic precedence, the Soviets had better soldiers, were more motivated, and could not deal with Afghanistan, come to think of it, since the Americans and Soviets were allies in the second world war, America didn't win a single war since then, and then, it was the Russians who did most of the work... But, may be just the depression is talking through me, they fired the prettiest voice announcer at a classical radio station called WQXR, her name was Candice Agree, and they used the reason that they moved to another frequency and that they were taken over by New York City...

quite a cockamamie reason to say the least. Her voice was very feminine, and the homos could not tolerate it. So now I have no one to listen to and write goofy emails to... The more loneliest I become, the higher the probability that I will fall
into a depression, and probably there are quite many experts in such, who pray for that every day. As a matter of fact I received phone calls "if I taught about the fact that I might need long term care"... Oh, the local psychiatric wolfs are salivating for me, does anyone has some meat loaded with cyanide to throw it to them ???? -

The Sarah Palin Story is not about a naive and vacuous Mat-Su Valley Girl. It is about a formerly serious political party whose "moderate" Presidential candidate was foolish enough to nominate her for VP.

The total loss of integrity that the GOP has suffered since it began courting the racist vote in the 1960's has deprived our country of any serious political debate for decades. That the three most prominent spokesmen for the self-styled "conservative" party, whose last President liked to call himself "The Education President" do no have a single bachelor's degree among them, is utterly damning. On paper, Sarah Palin is more educated than Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck combined...and she knows NOTHING. How could the GOP have nominated for President a man so irresponsible that he named her as his running mate? The answer is, this is the sad moral and intellectual state of the GOP today. The party today, is like one of those formerly American brand names now owned by some foreign business that has products manufactured in rented Chinese factories and labels them "Zenith" or "RCA".
Who owns the "GOP" brand now, and what kind of political junk are they using it, to sell?-

all your statement is trash. The republican party has the best record of any party. I could debate you anytime anywhere because you do not know the facts. You have been brainwashed.

The republican party is the freedom party and the dems are the racists from slavery to the civil right movement to affirmative action, the dems were always on the wrong side of history. Liberals and Dems look at the world thru color glass. When are they going to act color blind? Obama's election proved the only racists in america are democrats and african americans

I for one hope she is the nominee. Maybe then actual conservatives would stop letting the boisterous theocratic lunatics drown out actual considered policy that could improve this nation.

Americans like a sideshow, but ultimately actually showing up at your job, being knowledgeable, not being an obvious paid shill for industries matter more than winking abilities.

Quickly! Hide behind self-righteousness! The ad hominem rejoinders—ready the ad hominem rejoinders! Watch out! Dodge the issue at hand! Question its character and keep moving haphazardly from one flawed point to the next!
All together now! Put every bit of secondhand conjecture into it you've got!
Make unsubstantiated claims! We need to switch fundamentally unsound tactics. Hurry, throw up the straw man! Look, I think it's going for it. C'mon…c'mon…yes, it's going for it! Now hit it with the thing that one guy told us once while it's distracted by our ludicrous rationalizations! -
