Rush already told America he wants Obama to fail, no matter what that failure happens to be. Obama doesn't get the olympics, Rush cheers. No doubt the man is cheering each and every death in Afghanistan too. If there's a terrorist attack while Obama's President Rush will likely pee himself with glee.

I'm not a big fan of Rush, but he specifically was asked if he wanted Obama to fail due to his policies. Rush said "yes", that "if Obama being a success means his policies are a success, then yes I want him to fail". Clearly, he was describing Obama's policies.

No one who hates debt should have wanted Chicago to get the Olympics. It would have been a fiscal disaster that would have followed Obama for life after being so publicly out in front of it. -

And all of his dittoheads surely cheered in unison. What is wrong with these people? Boston is one of the cities up for 2020. I suppose this means Mitt Romney cannot be involved in that bid. Especially since the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games he chaired ended in a $1.2 billion deficit? As if SLC would rather have not held those games? Most understand the profit numbers rarely tell the whole story.

I suppose no future US president or any elected official should ever again involve themselves in this process. Sickening and disgusting, Rush is a genuine menace to America. Anybody who views this as a rejection of Obama simply does not understand the process.
Scarborough is one of the few decent Republicans left. Even though he has ripped Obama at times he usually has a some sort of viable argument. And he has criticized GOP members when they step out of line as well.

I haven't listen to Rush in over a year now but one of the last times I did listen to him he was on one of his rants about the war with Iraq and how those who did not support the president and the policies and what was good for the country were unpatriotic, my how a year makes a difference.

Well, what Rush specifically was objecting to was people who demonstrated against the military. He also objected to people who wanted the United States to fail in Iraq, and he objected to it because it meant the deaths of our military members. It seemed callous at the time, and still does. There is a vast difference between that situation and the Olympic Games.

And, several people have already suggested that anyone who opposed the Chicago Olympics is unpatriotic. That's absurd; I live there and I didn't want the Olympics for purely economic reasons. It would have been and financial disaster and everyone knows that. -

My Fellow Americans: As Americans we have the freedom to laugh at a Joke. Rush is a Real American so he also has the Freedom to Laugh at a Joke. Therefore we and Rush just couldn't help Laughing at O.

What a better Joke than O. Going to Copenhagen with his family and worrying about where the 2016 Olympics will be held while promoting Chicago as his Place of Preference.
Now, I was wondering since he failed and failed miserably to change any minds let alone influence any minds about the Olympic Games, I'm assuming that was the Summer Type, then maybe he can hunt down the next Olympic Committee and try to get the Winter Olympics, or Special Olympics to come to Chicago.
Let's see that was for, 2016 and it is now 2009, yes, that appears to have been the most pressing problem on his agenda.
A nose diving Economy, Consistent job Losses, Dieing Soldiers in Afghanistan, Rockets being launched toward the U.S.A., Flood Victims in the Southern States, Raging Fires out West, Unemployment Benefits and Retirement Funds depleting, The Dollar Losing Value on the World Market, but no my friends, where the Olympics are going to be played in 2016 was of the Highest Priority.
Finally, I imagine that O will tell our Athletes not to win any of the events since he does not believe in beating other Countries. If the Olympic Committee had been able to control their laughter of O long enough and actually chose Chicago for the Olympics, I suspect that every competitor would have gotten a Gold Medal, No Silver, No Bronze, Just Gold. I wonder how many veterans who have bled for this country don't like the way Icantwait judges them without ever actually trying to talk about the core values and principles that we should treasure as Americans? -

Yes. VERY pressing. Those 7 years would've been 7 years of construction work, which means more rentals & purchases of equipment, orders for construction materials, increased restaurant business for all those lunches, & the list goes on, not to mention tax revenue.
So if you don't want a community to gain LOTS of money & JOBS, then go ahead & denigrate the president for trying to help a struggling community in a recession.

It's about time somebody on the other side 'outed' the hate speech from the ultra right! You righties just can't stand it that the other side now has a voice. Obviously you are against free speech! And talk about bought and paid for. Puhleeeez! Even Rush admitted that he 'carried water' for the Republican party.

Olympic events cost in the millions. If we have that kind of money to waste why not send it down to the people on the gulf coast still trying to put their lives back together. We had the Olympics five times. The countries in South America never hosted an Olympics, its their turn.
