It's so far into the Mojave Desert, that some have wondered if any would even know about it, if litigation had not been brought forth. It's known as the "Mojave Cross," and the Supreme Court, whose new term just began, will hear a case on it.

    If we must have religious displays, the middle of a desert is probably one of the better choices.

      They may actually have to rule on the legality of the US government controlling land not for defense purposes or for the capital area of the nation. Maybe the states will get back the vast areas wrongfully taken from them by US government, for unconstitutional purposes. So the cross issue may be of no real importance, but the governments control of the land may.
