Did We Elect a Beta Male As President? »
Posted By pc25 1 month, 2 weeks ago in Political OpinionWe're all somewhat familiar with the body language dogs display when they greet each other. The dominant alpha male approaches directly, asserting his authority, while the beta male genuflects, crouches, tucks his tail, and may even end up on his back, exposing his neck in acquiescence, making sure the alpha male knows he has no intention of challenging him. With his "we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist" opening to the world's dictators, the President is exhibiting classic beta male behavior, in essence rolling over on his back and exposing his throat to them to make sure they know he has no intention of challenging their authority.
Of course, the problem is that he's not simply exposing his throat, he's exposing America's collective throat, sending the message that he's a typical beta male intent on submitting to all the alpha male leaders around the world, and damn the consequences.

Lose Afghanistan, Lose Pakistan, Lose Iran, Lose It All
he gangster regimes of the world are on the march, and they've got our number. They know how to squeeze more civilized nations. Our weakness is cowardice, and that goes double or triple in the face of nuclear weapons. That's why all the rogues are trying to get nukes as fast as they can. They know it's the perfect blackmail weapon, and it makes them invulnerable to attack.
That is also why President Obama's public rejection of General McChrystal's advice on Afghanistan affects your personal safety and mine. Gen. McChrystal wants more troops. Obama doesn't want to send them because he needs the money to promote his socialist take-over of America. You can't have both. Look at Europe, where the military have become pathetic social welfare programs. All the air is sucked out by bigger and bigger victim programs.
Obama must be realizing by now that the chance of a major war in the Gulf next year is rising to 100 percent-

Funny, you are complaining about Obama doing exactly what Bush did.
Reply
2004 - Bush said we did not need more troops in Iraq. The Bush admin called Murtha a traitor for suggesting that a surge (Murtha's term at the time, ironically) was needed to bring Iraq under control.
2007 - Bush decides to implement a surge after 3.5 years and over 3000 deaths.
All the while, nothing was being done by the Bush admin about Afghanistan and Al Qaeda.
Now Obama is pursuing the same strategy.
How does having nuclear weapons make them invulnerable? Have you any evidence? The US has them and we've been attacked. The Russia has them and that did nothing for them in Afghanistan or Georgia. Israel has them and are they invulnerable? You are making fear-mongering statements without any historical evidence whatsoever.
Obama is spending as much money on the military as Bush did. Actually, more money.
Your position is laughable. You want to start solving the issue. Stop sending huge tankers full of money that we end up borrowing from China to our enemies. We are helping fund the very things you are afraid of.
Now that is stupid foreign policy. -

More Democrat ‘Aid And Comfort’ To The Enemy
From the “keen sense of the obvious” department at Harvard University, researchers at the Kennedy School of Government reported this week what anyone with a lick of common sense already knew: When Democrats and their Leftmedia instruments of propaganda openly condemn Operation Iraqi Freedom, they embolden our enemy.
The research team determined that the more strident the political dissention of OIF reflected in U.S. media stories or polls (read: “Pollaganda”), the more frequent were attacks against civilians and U.S. military forces in Iraq. Notably, in areas with greater access to international news media, the quantifiable increases were greater.
The report, “Is There an ‘Emboldenment’ Effect? Evidence from the Insurgency in Iraq,”, concludes that attacks increased between seven and ten percent following “high-mention weeks,” like the two before the November 2006 midterm elections, when Leftist political rhetoric was at full steam.
Since the onset of hostilities with Jihadistan, and particularly in the wake of 9/11 and our military response (OEF and OIF), I have written a few pointed essays about how Democrats and their Leftmedia minions lend support to our enemy with political fodder designed to appeal to their Leftist constituency.
Of course, there is a distinction between constructive criticism and traitorous rhetoric, but in time of war one must choose words to express dissent very carefully. In this respect, some notable Democrats have been reckless to the point of treason.
The Kennedy School of Government Harvard University not exactly the bastions of Republican conservatism -

pc - My, my! What a simple mind and simplistic world outlook you have. Must be comforting to have one solution for every problem in the world. Having problems? Why just send in more troops. That'll do the trick every time.
Reply
Sad to inform you, the world is much more complicated than that. Sending in more troops and money means more civilian deaths to antagonize the Muslims and create more radicals. More troops also means the greater resemblance we have to an invading enemy. That will also create more converts to jihadism.
We must stop the free rein the al Qaeda and the Taliban have around the wild countryside - yes. However, we must also win over the populace, the tribal leaders, the other Muslim countries. We must provide alternative sources of services, water, agriculture to show that villagers do not have to turn to jihadism. We have to teach them to fight their own battles to protect their own villages. The al Qaeda are mostly Arabs and are seen as foreigners. We have to take advantage of that.
Both Karzai and Zadari must be weaned off a culture of corruption and given incentives to stop corruption within their armies and collaboration with the enemy among sympathizers.
The basic point is that the wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan must be waged and won by THEM. That way when we finally leave, they will keep the stability permanently. If we simply go in en masse and smash the enemy, but do nothing to win over the populace, provide a stable economy, and convert the government leaders, the al Qaeda and Taliban will simply immediately crop up again.
And will you stop with the "socialist take-over of America" nonsense? It really makes you look like a wide-eyed, frothing-at-the-mouth, lunatic. You really know nothing of Europe and its military forces.

Or a president that refuses to listen to the electorate. That speaks of elitism and entitlement. An unfortunate trait for a president, though we seem to elect exactly that. And as much as this can be assumed of the present president, I am also speaking of his predecessor.

option A
israel eliminates all iranian nuclear tech and starts a shooting war. straits of Hormuz are closed by what's left of the iranian army/navy/air force and the price of oil goes to $150/bbl causing a bigger economic crash/depression. millions die.
option B
iran goes nuclear and bombs israel. israel's dead hand turns iran every iranian city into a glass parking lot. we're all breathing radioacitve iodine, strontium and cesium for the next 100 years. the world economy slides then shatters. billions die.

You're right, you surely didn't. You elected an incompetent, limp wristed, wanna be king of the realm. You elected a sham who is leading this nation to slaughter. You elected a person who cannot even fill the shadow of George Bush. You elected an empty suit no more qualified to be President than I am, probably less so. You elected a wimp who is controlled by lord knows who, and who has never done ANYTHING to speak of except agitate. You should be proud of yourselves what with your highest accomplishment in life, getting this nobody into office way over his head.

They can't let go, Klarissa. George Bush gave them a life, a good object to hate because he is too decent to call them on their lies. They rely on George Bush and cannot make a case of any sort without him as their boogie man. Using him as their rationale for idiotic thoughts is all they have. They truly cannot help it. It's a mental thing. They'll die of old age, still using George Bush as a tool to help them feel important.

So let me get this straight, cons...Obama has a superiority complex AND he's a "pantywaist" for going on "apology tours" and bowing to show respect to Saudi leaders. Do you people have ANY idea how warped and incoherent your thought processes are? And, btw, "we" didn't elect Obama. Cons voted for whatever candidate had an R next to his name like you always do.

Amen to that. One week they claim Obama is a thug from Chicago or a Hitler in the making and in the next he is a wimp. Conservatives are consistently inconsistent.

The truth is that Iran was a trouble maker during the Bush administration and very little has changed now. If we are losing in Afghanistan, its because Bush's team dropped the ball and never finished the job when we had the advantage because it was a war that they were never interested in. They didn't commit the resources necessary when it would have made a difference. We've increased the troop presence there so if we are losing, its not Obama's lack of commitment. In fact, the cons are disparaging our fighting men and women since they are the ones who are fighting this war in Afghanistan not the president. But the cons love of military just like their patriotism is a fickle one. I don't think the Taliban or Al Qaida care who the president of the United States is or fear the president one way or the other. I mean its pretty stupid to assume that suicidal fanatics are going to be afraid of an Alpha dog. This is just more stupid jock talk from adolescence. Their reasoning powers never evolved beyond my dad is bigger than your dad.

I respectfully disagree. I will never believe Harry S. Truman was yanked around by anybody. He had more guts in his little pinky than Obama can even imagine anyone having. Harry was a Democrat, back when Democrats were mainstream. I am a Republican and I see him as a brave, sensible, discerning person with far less "education" than Obama has. How would you collectivists compare the two of them?

Obama won the election. He has a majority in the House and Senate. In fact, the much ballyhooed 60 votes. So, he should be ending the wars, passing health care, putting more stimulus money to work, cutting corporate profits and abuse, strengthening government regulation and control, closing GITMO, etc. What the hell is he waiting for?? Timew to get on the stick.

I am not sure now which Republican accusation to believe.
Reply
On the one hand, many Republicans accuse Obama of being so arrogant and cocky and full of himself, because he travelled to Copenhagen to help in the attempt to bring the Olympic games to Chicago. They said he went in the mistaken belief that his presence alone could sway the entire committee to his bidding.
They also say that Obama is a power-grabbing socialist and Nazi who will subjugate the country to his will.
Then here comes this article that says he is a beta male and unable to assert himself and who meekly tucks his tail between his legs when confronted by other world leaders.
My head is spinning. Which one am I to believe?-
