REPORT:‘We Will Overthrow The Government’—Calls For Violence Repeatedly Stoked By Conservative Voices »
Posted By bluetexasvalley 1 month, 2 weeks ago in Political NewsLast week, the right-wing media outlet Newsmax, which receives 4 million unique monthly visitors and 130,000 print subscribers, published a column by conservative author John Perry arguing that a military coup could "resolve" the "radical left" "Obama problem". After being widely criticized, Newsmax retracted the column. However, the column appears to have encouraged an already angry group of anti-Obama radicals who have been plotting violence against the government.

While discussing the Newsmax column on his XM Sirius radio show last week, Michelangelo Signorile heard from a caller, “Jim from Oklahoma,” who explained that the idea of a coup is already being planned by a group of at least 200 people:
"Pulling our government down, pulling our President out, and putting him back where he should be [...] [using] the right to bear arms, it’s in the Constitution. [...] We need a coup, there needs to be a coup and if the United States military won’t do it, we’ll do it."
Jim confirmed that he was “dead serious.” Although he was coy about specific details, Jim said that he was motivated by homophobia and an interest in bringing back slavery. A second caller confessed that her own mother has been scheming against the government because she has been captivated by racist thoughts and a belief that “Jesus is coming to overthrow Barack Obama.” She pleaded for people to recognize the extremist threat against Obama.-

And that's what I call a credible threat of a coup against the feds -
Some redneck crackpot blabbering about it on talk radio.
It's beyond stupid. If there were anything at all to his rant about a coup, he would be detained by FBI or Secret Service at this very moment.

the issue is that this person will be dismissed by the right as a lunatic; i don't know if this is true or not, but those elements are certainly loud.

You probably already know Signorile is an advocate for gay rights and used to write a fairly left-leaning column for the Village Voice. I'd be surprised if his radio show didn't collect information (or at least a phone number) from those who call in, and I'm certain he'd be happy to cooperate with law-enforcement authorities.

What I would like to know is why the FBI will go to the home of a teenager who creates a poll posing a question involving harm/death to the President (rightly so) because it is recognized as a potential threat, but these people can climb onto their soapbox and scream about overthrowing the government and plotting true violence and they are "dismissed as a lunatic" by the public, the political parties, and apparently the FBI as well?

Why the discrepancy??
Inciting violence is a crime.
Inciting a violent overthrow of the government is treason.
Why aren't we holding these people accountable?-

I'd like to know why some of these extremists were allowed to show up with assault rifles at town hall meetings. The 2nd Amendment is fine but there are limits to what is considered legal behavior. We know their passions are inflamed. Combine that with guns in a public setting and we're asking for tragic events to happen. This type of crap would not have been allowed during the tenure of any other President in our history. The Justice Dept. should crack down hard on these people.

When are we going to hold the government accountable, Obama took 700 million in bribes and called them campaign contributions, Bush waged two illegal wars. Sen. Baucus, who wrote the healthcare reform took millions in bribes from insurance companies. Thomas Jefferson said "you won't need the 2nd amendment until the government tries to take it away" was he a terrorist? This government is a bunch lying, cheating bunch of scumbags who are the ones committing treason. Those of you putting blind faith in the government, regardless of which party, are the reason these groups exist. It's every Americans responsibility, who votes, to hold those they elect accountable. When people fear the government, that tyranny. When the government fears the people thats democracy.

I am beginning to wonder about the rather laisez faire attitude of this administration towards these wing nuts. I do however remember that Bush pretty much let criticism of him go unchallenged unless it was at a speech and he only allowed approved people in where as Obama lets anyone in. I guess you can't overreact to these people as it gives them some sort of credibility if you do. President Obama won the popular vote as well as the electoral college, these fruitcakes need to be reminded of that.

I hope and pray daily that this imposter is removed from office and placed in a nice uncomfortable prison cell, along with all his corrupt cronies. He has lied from day one and will continue to try and destroy this country of ours due to his puppet masters and due to his hatred of Americans. I long for revolution in the streets, our Constitution left those amendments in place so that in times of tyranny, the people could revolt and take back the goverment and return it as it was originally intended. A free nation where people could choose their destinies and not have it dictated to them by those who think they know whats best and more accurately as to how best to line their own pockets. It amazes me at how many people have no mind of their own and are quite content to be bagged and tagged and led to slaughter. I am a right-wing extremist and proudly so, I will never be one of the herd and look forward to when this country is back in the hands of true Americans and not these foreign born usurpers who illegally hold the seat to the highest office in our land.

Being a "true American" means being a thoughtful, responsible, participatory citizen. It means recognizing that a democracy means a multitude of different peoples, colors, beliefs, and ways of living. Our democracy is already in the hands of true Americans. We are, have always been, and will always be a free nation.
When you proudly proclaim yourself to be a right wing extremist, you immediately place yourself in a tiny, fringe group of intolerant, narrow minded, and prejudiced individuals. Extremists do not accept other peoples and points of view.
Therefore, you are NOT a "true American." You are merely a dangerous psychopath trying to impose your bizarre and outlandish beliefs on everyone else. America rejects people like you. We will never allow YOU to dictate to US your crazy beliefs and ideas.
Just crawl back into your cave and avoid the light of day for the rest of your life.

The system no longer works like that. The candidates are "pre-selected" for us these days by a corrupt oligarchical class that decides who gets to even be a candidate through their financial control of election expenditure. This has been going on for a long time and the most intrusive of such groups has also been known for a long time. This has cost America and Americans dearly. We will not recover our democracy until we confront such groups and end their domination of our government, politics and media.

JFK Was Enraged at ‘Zionist Control’ Effected by Campaign Contributions
Back in the shtetl the two highest values in Jewish life were wealth and learning. Well I’m pitting the learning against the wealth here. I’m going to keep on my theme of Jewish wealth in politics, inasmuch as it distorts our policy in the Middle East.
Last year Seymour Hersh, god bless him, openly spoke of “Jewish money” when he criticized the push to attack Iran. And my correspondent just sent me a selection from Hersh’s 1991 book “The Samson Option: Israel’s Nuclear Arsenal and American Foreign Policy”:
“… [Governor Abraham Ribicoff of Connecticut said that in 1960,] ‘I told Kennedy I was going to get in touch with Abe Feinberg, who I thought was a key Jew. I arranged a meeting [with Kennedy] in Feinberg’s apartment in the Hotel Pierre and we invited all the leading Jews.’ About twenty prominent businessmen and financiers showed up...
...‘As an American citizen he was outraged,’ Bartlett recalled, ‘to have a Zionist group come to him and say: “We know your campaign is in trouble. We’re willing to pay your bills if you’ll let us have control of your Middle East policy.’” Kennedy, as a presidential candidate, also resented the crudity with which he’d been approached. ‘They wanted control,’ he angrily told Bartlett.
“Bartlett further recalled Kennedy promising to himself that if he ever did get to be President, he was going to do something about it”–a candidate’s perennial need for money and resulting vulnerability to the demands of those who contributed. ...
...JFK wanted a nuclear-free near east with inspectors at Dimona and a resolution to the Palestinian refugee problem (which would be a policy based on American interests or perhaps even regional or international interests). I don’t think his patrons liked those ideas much. they wanted a policy based on Israel’s interests. and as they say, when you pay the piper, you call the tune.
To which I’d add: Israel got nukes. Nukes seem to have played a role in causing the ‘67 War. Now Iran wants nukes; and this time around the U.S. is contemplating military attacks. Maybe it’s time to get nukes out of the Middle East? Isn’t Dimona a bargaining chip?...

The Unacceptable Cost of Judeo-Christianity; Its Legacy of Pain
http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/10/08/the-unac...
No religious persuasion has ever been more clearly responsible for so much bloodshed and destruction as has “Christian Zionism.” This 100-year old offshoot of fundamental Christianity has almost single-handedly legitimized wars in Arab states since January 1991. Its destructive power is only now being understood. ... We note again that the grassroots individuals within this movement are almost always motivated by altruistic religious belief (this author was once one of these), while the driving force behind their leaders is almost always tainted by money and the power of fame.
...First: It must be understood what Judeo-Christianity (also called “evangelicalism,” dispensationalism, or Christians Zionism) is: by any name, a 20th Century phenomena, an apostate-cult, meaning it practices, in part, a deviant path of following Christ, and it relies upon many varied human sources other than the traditional bible(s) for its theology.4 & 5
Second: Judeo-Christianity ascribes holiness to a foreign political state, Israel, as though it was itself a god. It placed political Israel on the throne along side of Jesus Christ, and, in so doing, its teachers ignore, if not annul, much of Jesus’ teachings. 1 & 2 & 3
Third: Rank and file churchgoers and many lesser known Judeo-Christian pastors think of themselves as moral, even when they are actively contributing to immoral acts, such as supporting mass military assassinations in Gaza and the West Bank. ...
...Judeo-Christianity can easily be used by its leader, and by the leaders of Israel, to carry out a political agenda that favors that foreign political state over and ahead of the interests of America, and ahead of the interest of any humans in the USA or any other country except Israel. For the most part followers of the cult do not know they are being used. Without this understanding many are confused between Judeo-Christian religion and its political agenda. Pro-Israel activists, including John Hagee, should rightly be registered as agents for a foreign government, so open are their objectives.,Some of our allies against serial wars attribute them to Israel, working through its agents and lobbies for the purpose of gaining US dollar support and creating chaos in the Middle East for its own benefit.
Much is finally being exposed about the powerful Israeli lobby led by The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). AIPAC's agenda that calls for the USA to finance and bless its occupation of its neighbors, and eventually control the oil of the Middle East, tactics that are contrary to American interests. ... -

Show me anything that has to do with Obama having anything to do with prayer in school. That policy of not forcing kids to pray has been put in place long before Obama.
Where has Obama done anything to keep you from having gunS? Seem to me that the buying and selling of guns have hit record high. People are buying rediculas amounts of guns because they are afraid Obama is going to take away their rights, but he has yet to do so.

Eh, Idiota.
"Now he has a problem with our constitution and wants to change that. We can't have prayers in school and are expected to eliminate the word God from every federal building"
While I disagree with the complete anihilation of the word God from the Pledge and the "In God We Trust" (note the irony of putting God on money, cheapens God don't you think?) I respect the rights of the people who want them removed or who wish to not say the phrase "One Nation, Under God" that is their right as American Citizens. What I suspect you REALLY mean here though is the removal of Christian statues and such from government buildings. Freedom of Religion means that they cannot be there, lest we have state sponsered religion. It's the First Amendment, deal with it or get out. I have no problem with removing prayer in school: Whose prayers will we be praying? I don't have a problem with "5 minutes of silent reflection" once a week or something, they can cut a minute from each class to fix it. Of course that leads us to...
"He wants to add another 3 hours daily of school to our children"
While as a former student I'd have had a BIIIIIIIIIG problem with this, and I think the school year is already too long, students DO need breaks I see the wisdom in this. Consider this: 3 hours divided by the six classes most students take in high school. That's an additional 30 minutes of class each. That brings classes up to 75 minutes approximately. Which is still shorter than most all college classes, which last 90 minutes (or in the case of my Psych 002/Experimental Psychophysiology class, 90 minutes of class and 90 minutes of lab). Think how much more prepared our students could be if we did this. Consider that we are 24th in Education, we fell to that just last month or late August. We're not the best no matter how much the Exceptionalists want to believe we are and squawk like we are. We need education reform, and NOT a NCLB repeat, Bush really f*cked us students with that one.
